Scope and Content The materials in Case Number 2015-0052-S are a selective, not necessarily all inclusive, body of documents responsive to the topic of the FOIA. Researchers should consult the archivist about related materials. 1

Case Number 2015-0052-S contains materials from the files of Roman Popadiuk, who served as the Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy Press Secretary for Foreign Affairs from 1989 to 1992. The documents encompass a wide range of information within the context of the changing global security environment, including but not limited to foreign relations, the collapse of the Soviet Union, the emergence of new Eastern European governments; events in the Middle East, the subsequent Gulf War and its impact; the rise of terrorism, the continued War on Drugs, etc. The materials consist of White House press releases, presidential statements, press briefings, press conferences, press guidance, and interviews; letters requesting interviews, photographs, or speaking engagements (primarily Brent Scowcroft); travel schedules, arrangements and information books for the press accompanying the President, also pool reports. Also included are Popadiuk s business schedules, and State Department materials, such as press briefings, press releases and testimony of Secretary of State James Baker, III to Congressional committees.
