If you are a National program you are required to apply directly to CNCS. If you are a State program, you are required to apply directly to the State Commission for that state (OneStar Foundation is the State Commission for Texas). 4

Terminology Funding Type Competitive Formula Grant Type Cost Reimbursement Fixed Amount Application Type New Recompete Continuation 9
Funding Type Competitive vs. Formula funding describes essentially the pot of money that funds your program. Competitive means that your application (once selected and approved by OneStar) is sent by us to CNCS to compete for a pool of competitive funds. Formula means that OneStar funds your application with funds available to us through a population based formula allocation. In either case the program design, reporting requirements, funding limitations, and program start date are identical and if selected under Competitive or Formula funding, you would become a grantee of OneStar Foundation. Funds to support AmeriCorps State and National grants are subject to the availability of appropriations for fiscal year 2017. 10
Grant Type 1. Cost Reimbursement Grants Operating Grant Planning Grant Professional Corps 2. Fixed Amount Grants Professional Corps Education Award Program AmeriCorps Partnership Challenge Eligibility for Fixed Amount: Current or Prior experience successfully administering an AmeriCorps State grant through OneStar for at least one three-year project period. 11
Application Type 1. New New programs are those that have not previously received an AmeriCorps State or National grant, are not currently managing a 2016-2017 AmeriCorps State or National program, or are submitting an application for a program design or funding type for which they have not previously received AmeriCorps funding. 2. Previous Previous programs are those that have previously received an AmeriCorps State or National grant, but are not currently managing a 2016-2017 AmeriCorps State or National program. 3. Recompete Current programs entering the final year of their grant project period in 2016-2017 are required to submit a new application if they wish to be considered for future AmeriCorps funding. This process is known as recompetition. Recompeting programs are reminded that submitting an application does not guarantee success in securing future funding. 4. Continuation Current programs in year 1 or year 2 of their grant project period in 2016-2017 are required to submit a continuation application if they wish to be considered for year 2 or year 3 funding. Could you explain what costs are covered for the AmeriCorps grants, i.e. what does the grantee have to cover and what does CNCS cover? 3. Do you have any resources on companies that offer AmeriCorps Member health insurance plans? 4. Is there a specific logic model template? 22
