Here you ll find a variety of local, provincial and national grants, loans, and equity investments to help you in your social innovation efforts.

LOCAL ENACTUS WINDSOR www.enactuswindsor.com A student run nonprofit organization, it provides grants for programs which improve the quality of life for local residents. EPICentre UNIVERSITY OF WINDSOR www.epicentreuwindsor.ca Start up funding, as well as funding to help develop ideas into minimum viable product, for students and recent graduates. LIBRO CREDIT UNION www.libro.ca/community/prosperityfund.aspx Libro Prosperity Fund - Supporting entrepreneurship, small enterprise and co-operative start-ups. LOCAL POVERTY REDUCTION FUND www.canadabusiness.ca/eng/program/5129 For not-for-profit, registered charities or Aboriginal organizations. The grant amount will depend on the nature of the project. It must be a new local, innovative and sustainable program or service that reduces poverty. THE O'NEIL FOUNDATION COMMUNITY GRANTS PROGRAM www.theoneilfoundation.org A bi-annual program that award grants of up to $10,000 to registered charities in Windsor-Essex that demonstrate strategic leadership in advancing the most pressing problems facing our community. WEtech-ALLIANCE WINnovation FUND www.wetech-alliance.com Provides up to $3,000 to enable clients aged 18-29 to access specialized advisory services for start-up related activities.

INNOWEAVE www.innoweave.ca/en/about/grants Provides funding to help organizations access the coaching they require to implement a new approach. All organizations that have attended an Innoweave workshop are eligible to apply for Innoweave Implementation Funding. OCE ONTARIO SOCIAL IMPACT VOUCHER PROGRAM (OSIV) www.oce-ontario.org/programs/entrepreneurship-programs/osiv-program Up to $3,000 for access to value-added social entrepreneurship business supports and/or services. ONTARIO JOB CREATION PARTNERSHIPS www.tcu.gov.on.ca/eng/employers/jobcreation.html For those who need an employee for a new business project, apply to hire an employee who will be paid by the program.

SOUTHWESTERN ONTARIO DEVELOPMENT FUND www.ontario.ca/page/southwestern-ontario-development-fund Gives money to businesses, municipalities and not-for-profit organizations for economic development in southwestern Ontario. YOUTH OPPORTUNITIES FUND www.otf.ca/what-we-fund/investment-streams/youthopportunities-fund/grassroots-innovation An annual program that provides grants and capacity-building supports to youth-led grassroots groups and collaboratives serving young people, with benefit to marginalized youth aged 12-25 and their families.

LIFT PHILANTHROPY PARTNERS www.liftpartners.ca Provides social purpose organizations with a multi-year package of support including hands-on management support, business expertise and resources, and strategic funding. OPPORTUNITIES FUND FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES www.servicecanada.gc.ca/eng/of/index.shtml For those individuals with disabilities who want to start a business, or an employer who would like to hire someone with a disability. THE J.W. MCCONNELL FAMILY FOUNDATION www.mcconnellfoundation.ca/en Grants to federally registered charities and municipalities in four areas: Inclusion, Sustainability, Reslience, Innovation THE MCCONNELL SOCIAL INNOVATION FUND www.mcconnellfoundation.ca/en/programs/social-innovation-fund Community organizations that have proven or promising early stage innovations and need additional support: up to $150,000. Established organizations scaling up or introducting new innovations: up to $300,000. BUSINESS RESOURCE CENTRE OF ESSEX COUNTY www.ec-businessresourcecentre.ca Offers loans to new and expanding businesses located in Essex County (excluding those located within the City of Windsor). CANADIAN ALTERNATIVE INVESTMENT FOUNDATION www.caifoundation.ca/capital.html Provides affordable, flexible loans and mortgages to assist charities providing social services and supports that create positive social change in their community. FUTURPRENEUR CANADA NEWCOMER PROGRAM www.canadabusiness.ca/eng/program/2566 For newcomers to Canada between the ages of 18 and 35, with a limited credit history. $7,500 repayable loan to start a business. This amount could be matched with a repayable loan from the BDC for a potential total of $15K. For those between 35 and 39, applications will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

FUTURPRENEUR CANADA START UP PROGRAM www.canadabusiness.ca/eng/program/2565 For people between the ages of 18 and 39, loans of up to $15,000 to start or buy a business. Can also apply for an extra $30,000 through Futurpreneur Canada-BDC Start-Up Program. GRAND CHALLENGES CANADA www.grandchallenges.ca Grand Challenges Canada supports global health initiatives. Funded by the Government of Canada they fund innovators in low- and middle-income countries and Canada. The ideas they support integrate science and technology, social and business innovation. LIFT PHILANTHROPY PARTNERS www.liftpartners.ca Provides social purpose organizations with a multi-year package of support including hands-on management support, business expertise and resources, and strategic funding. MaRS CENTRE FOR IMPACT INVESTING impactinvesting.marsdd.com/knowledge-hub/funds The Centre for Impact Investing is a social finance hub and project incubator. Find impact-oriented financial sources in Canada through their Knowledge Hub. ONTARIO CATAPULT MICROLOAN FUND FOR SOCIAL ENTERPRISES www.socialinnovation.ca/catapult Offers loans to Ontario-based social enterprises with existing revenues that require growth capital. Loans between $5,000 - $25,000 for revenue-generating social enterprises, and $1,000 - $5,000 for pre-revenue social enterprises. Provides organizations with early-stage financing to help build success and attract commercial financing.

RISE ASSET DEVELOPMENT www.riseassetdevelopment.com Rise provides low interest small business loans, training, and mentorship to entrepreneurs with a history of mental health or addiction challenges. Eligible entrepreneurs can access loans up to $10,000 throughout Ontario. WECAN - WINDSOR ESSEX CAPITAL ANGEL NETWORK www.weangelnetwork.com WECAN is a non-profit Angel Group and a member of Angle Investors Ontario, NACO National Angel Capital Organization (Canada) that works within its own group of investors and through syndication opportunities with 12 other Angel Investment Groups across Ontario, and 13 venture funds, family offices and strategic investors collaboratively to identify and co-invest in ventures whose social, environment and cultural impacts are intentional, measured, reported and aligned with financial performance and investment returns. YOUTH SOCIAL INNOVATION CAPITAL FUND www.youthsocialinnovation.org For Canadian Residents between the ages of 18 and 35 running a for-profit or non-profit social enterprise.
