CHICAGO TRIP ITINERARY Directors Mr. Hillock, Mr. White, Miss Arnold, Mr. Gartner Chaperones Misty Craig, Tammy Davis, Ann Eisenmenger, Gene Ann Kerr, Ellie Powell, Phillip Powell, Leanne Smith, Paula Studebaker, Jana Sullivent, Brian Wilkerson, Brandy Wilson Tour Director Derek Lundgren Wednesday, April 22nd 5:35 p.m. Medicine and Luggage Check In 6:30 p.m. Load Buses Campus police recommends that you have someone bring you to the band room. If you have to leave your vehicle here, it needs to be parked in the Music Building parking lot. Do not leave anything of value in your vehicle and give further cause for break in or theft. Concert Uniforms are to be stored in the front storage bays, suitcases in the middle storage bays, and instruments in the back storage bays of each bus. Some modifications may be made for larger percussion instruments/equipment as well as band parent supplies. All Percussion will need to load equipment with cases in bus #1 in the back storage bay. Check and double check that needed equipment and mallets have been loaded for each song. Don't expect someone else to load your equipment. Don't forget anything. If you have a folding stand, bring it. We will need it for rehearsals. Make sure it has your name clearly marked on it. Make sure and pack your travel shirt. Students will be required to wear their travel shirt on Friday. 7:00 p.m. Depart Jenks for Chicago You should check the forecast for the Chicago area in order to be prepared for the weather - especially for breakfast and the Museum. Include those items with your carry on bag. The number of movies shown at this time will be limited to one or two. Rest stops/driver change stop as needed. Students may or may not be allowed to leave bus at overnight stops.

Thursday, April 23rd Breakfast en route. $8.00 given to students for this meal. 10:15 a.m. Arrive at the Museum of Science & Industry There is a good chance that you will not be able to make or receive calls/texts on cell phones while you are at the museum. Lunch during time at the museum - lunch vouchers will be given to students. 3:15 p.m. Depart for Hotel 4:00 p.m. Arrive at Hotel and Check into hotel, shower and clean up for dinner All items should be taken to hotel rooms - this includes instruments and music. Doubletree Hotel Chicago/Oakbrook 1909 Spring Road Oak Brook, IL 60523 (630) 472-6000 5:45 p.m. Depart for Medieval Times (Dinner & Show) Experience Chicago Traffic 6:30 p.m. Arrive at Medieval Times 2001 N. Roselle Road Schaumburg, IL 60195 Includes meal and show 9:45 p.m. Depart for Hotel Cover any details pertaining to tomorrow morning. Curfew and lights out defined. Friday, April 24th Wake-Up and Breakfast. Rehearsal is tentatively set for Friday morning. Rehearsal time and location may change. All students are required to wear their travel shirt this day. 8:00 8:50 a.m. Symphonic Band Rehearsal We may be rehearsing in the same room that we are eating breakfast. The Symphonic Band will set up the room at the end of breakfast and then rehearse. Remember to bring your folding stands if you have one. 9:00 9:50 a.m. Concert Band Rehearsal Again, remember to bring your folding stands. We will break down the room after rehearsal. 10:15 a.m. Depart for Downtown

11:00 p.m. Lunch Arrive at Wabash Avenue between Grand Avenue and Illinois Street Shops for Lunch Students given $15 for lunch 12:10 p.m. Load buses and Depart for Briar Street Theatre 12:30 p.m. Arrive at Briar Street Theatre, Blue Man Group 3133 N. Halsted Chicago, IL 60657 Do not wear your best clothes to this concert. You may get something thrown at you. 2:45 p.m. End of Show. 3:15 p.m. Depart for Michigan Avenue Area 701 North Rush Street Chicago, IL 60611 A little bit of free time. 5:15 p.m. Load Buses at Michigan Avenue Area 5:30 p.m. Arrive at Rainforest Café 605 North Clark Street Chicago, IL 60654 7:30 p.m. Depart for Willis Tower 8:00 p.m. Arrive at Willis Tower and Skydeck 103 rd Floor 233 South Wacker Drive Chicago, IL 60606 10:45 p.m. Depart for Hotel Cover any details pertaining to tomorrow morning. Curfew and lights out defined. Saturday, April 25th Wake-Up and Breakfast. Hotel Check Out 10:15 a.m. Load Buses We will be checking out of the hotel, so everything must be packed and loaded onto the buses. Band members should be dressed in concert attire. A change of clothes for after the performance should be included with their carry on bag. 10:15 a.m. Depart for Contest

11:00 a.m. Arrive at Contest Site Lockport Township High School Central Campus 1222 Jefferson Street Lockport, Illinois 60441 $5.00 given to students for food to tie them over until dinner. Students may bring snacks with them or have extra money to purchase food items. Lockport will have a concession area set up that will include items that would normally be purchased at athletic type events. Concert Band and Symphonic Band Itinerary Concert Band will check in, begin unloading instruments and equipment, and transit to warm up area. Symphonic Band will transit to auditorium and listen to performing groups. 12:00 p.m. Concert Band Warm Up 12:30 p.m. Concert Band Performance After Concert Band performance, Symphonic Band goes to bus to unload instruments/equipment and transit to the warm up area. 1:00 p.m. Concert Band Clinic After clinic, Concert Band members load instruments/equipment back on bus and return to auditorium to listen to performing groups. 1:30 p.m. Symphonic Band Warm Up 2:00 p.m. Symphonic Band Performance 2:30 p.m. Symphonic Band Clinic After clinic, Symphonic Band returns to auditorium, sits with Symphonic Band, and attends award ceremony. 3:30 p.m. Awards Ceremony Symphonic Band returns instruments and equipment to the bus. Everyone change clothes after awards ceremony. 4:30 p.m. Depart for Navy Pier After arrival, students will have some down time to shop and see sights as they please. 6:45 p.m. Depart for Gino s Deep Dish Pizza 500 North LaSalle Chicago, IL 60654 8:15 p.m. Depart for Jenks Rest stops/driver change stop as needed. Students may or may not be allowed to leave bus at overnight stops.
