The number of players that play at the top Division 1 schools is a very small percentage of the number of college volleyball players across Division I, Division II, Division III, NAIA, and NJCAA. GOOD FIT ACADEMICALLY AND ATHELTICALLY Do not pick a college just because you can play volleyball there. Choose a college or university that is a good fit for you academically as well as athletically. BE PROACTIVE IN THE RECRUITING PROCESS. Create a profile on Sportsrecruits.com and email your profile to your schools of interest. FOLLOW UP Recruiting can be a long process so you need to be patient and persistent. College coaches pay attention to the manner you reply and communicate with them. CUVC athletes are expected to reply to all colleges correspondence within 24-48 hours.
COMMON MISTAKES Level of Play (DI,DII,DIII,NAIA,NJCAA) Waiting for a scholarship Being an overzealous parent (let the athletes do the communicating) Neglecting academics Not playing club volleyball
