Welcome Welcome to Tennessee State University and Music City U.S.A. Tennessee State University is a comprehensive urban coeducational land-grant university founded in 1912 in Nashville, Tenn. Mission Statement The Department of Athletics at Tennessee State University was established, and exists today, in order to provide an opportunity for student-athletes to participate in a broad-based program of intercollegiate athletics, which is inextricably linked to the academic mission of the university. The Department will operate in a manner consistent with the ideas and purposes of the university, NCAA and conference in its pursuit of educational excellence and in the mental, physical, and ethical development of the student-athlete. Th e TSU Athletic Department will have a continuous and compelling linkage to the educational mission of the university. All programs of the Department will be conducted with a commitment to the policies, general mission, and internal controls of the university as well as a commitment to gender and racial equity. In addition, the Department recognizes its mandate to provide first-rate athletic competition for the thousands of students, alumni and other Tennesseans who support the intercollegiate athletic programs of TSU with their attendance at events, their enthusiasm, and their financial support. Visiting Team Information OFFICIALS Officials are assigned by the Ohio Valley Conference (or the home team for non-conference sports/contests). Contractual agreements are honored for split crews if applicable. PRESS/MEDIA Statistics will be provided for all events by the Media Relations Staff. Media Relations Services will provide play-by-play each quarter, halftime stats, final and individual stats including defensive stats, and other reports as requested. Light snacks will be available. Football Media Information: Credentials will be issued to legitimate media covering the contest. Credential arrangements will be made through Media Relations Director 615.963.1867. Marching Band Information: Coordination of Marching Band visitation 615.963.5350. All visiting Bands will be inspected by the Metro Police Bomb Squad before entering Nissan Stadium. Coordinating inspection times will be arranged prior to visit. Parking: Parking: Media parking is coordinated through Zekeya A. Harrison, Director, Media Relations, 615.963.1867 for equipment/setup and unloading information. The official visitor s station will be provided a courtesy (POTS) line by the Big Blue Network. Other stations will be charged a rights fee and must order ISDN lines through AT&T. SPIRIT GROUPS/BAND Visiting teams should notify Clinton Gray, Game Operations Manager, if they plan to bring spirit groups or pep band 615.424.4337 or cgray12@tnstate.edu. TICKETS/PASSES LIST Visiting teams must present a pass list and complimentary tickets three hours prior to game time to Zellina Anderson, Ticket Manager. This is in accordance with NCAA rules or by contract agreement. Complimentary tickets will be forwarded to your ticket manager for football and basketball. For other sports where admission is charged, a pass list is necessary per NCAA rules. For ticket information call 615.963.5481. Nissan Stadium Personal Bags/Purses The Nissan Stadium policy strongly encourage fans to not bring any type of bags, but outlined what is permissible. Fans will be able to carry the following style and size bag, package, or container at stadium plaza areas, stadium gates, or when approaching queue lines of fans awaiting entry into the stadium: Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12 x 6 x 12. or One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar). Small clutch bags, approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap, may be carried into the stadium along with one of the clear bag options. PARKING Nissan Stadium Team bus must be inspected in Lot M/G by Bomb Squad three hours prior to parking underneath Nissan Stadium. Equipment Truck must be inspected in Lot M/G by Bomb Squad and parked underneath Nissan Stadium at Bay 4 of Loading dock. If equipment truck is moved from Nissan Stadium prior to game, truck must be reinpected before entrance to Nissan Stadium. Special instructions: no food delivery is allowed in Nissan Stadium. Post game meal to be delivered to Lot M. Hale Stadium and Gentry Center Enter Walter S. Davis Blvd. turn left at entrance. Team Bus drop and park in front of Olympic Statue.
