Credentialing: CAPPA granted 25 requests for credentialing coupons to date during FYE 2018. Fifty five requests were granted during the prior fiscal year. Drive In Workshop: There is one potential workshop tentatively scheduled for spring. CAPPA is aware there is some informal activity in the region. The CAPPA Board has encouraged host institutions to keep us advised about these opportunities. These numbers lag the current regional goals. APPA Leadership Campus: CAPPA has made Campus available to the region since 2014. While most attendance is within the region, there are often some attendees at each session from other regions. Level 1 was offered and held at the 2017 joint conference with MAPPA. Level 4 was offered but not held due to low registration numbers.
We have worked with TAPPA to make Level 2 available at their 2018 spring conference, APPA is currently reviewing the contract. This will allow us to offer Level 3 at the fall 2018 annual conference. Regional Meeting The CAPPA annual conference was held 9/17 21/2017 in St. Louis. This joint meeting with MAPPA was well received by all (higher ed and business partners), leading to preliminary talks about a future joint meeting. The 2018 conference will be held in Spearfish, South Dakota, 9/28 10/0218. The host institution will be the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff and the theme is Facing the Built Environment. Black Hills State will assist with delivery of local activities such as campus tours. The site selection and dates for the 2019 Conference are finalized to be held at the Delta Hotels and RBC Convention Centre in Winnipeg. Discussion will continue about offering some sessions with alternate formats, ranging from quick informal concept descriptions, to longer and more formal interview sessions. With the educational sessions set, we will be reviewing how to deliver more opportunities, more often, within the region. Membership CAPPA President Angela Meyer is planning to attend the MOAPPA 2018 CONFERENCE at Truman State University, March 12 14, 2018, in Kirksville, MO to promote engagement with CAPPA/APPA. Regional Initiatives/Goal Updates: Mexico Initiative o CAPPA continues to support Lalo Gomez, CAPPA Emeritus, to engage and develop relationships and new memberships from the CAPPA MX region. Scholarships went unfilled for CAPPA Tech and CAPPA 2016 meetings. o Arkansas State University Queretaro, MX opened in fall 2017. ASU Jonesboro will be reaching out in April 2018 to encourage hosting a Supervisor s Toolkit training on their campus in early summer. Membership o CAPPA will partner with the state level organizations to hold spring meetings and encourage AOC. Credentialing o CAPPA will continue to increase knowledge and interest in participating in the credentialing program. CAPPA had two submissions for nominations for APPA national office this year, and will continue to push for regional engagement at the national level.
