EARL (PCC), Editor and Publisher T INSIDE THIS EDITION Department Orders DEPARTMENT ORDER No. 6 PASSING OF BROTHER CLARK SEUM By the authority vested in me as Commander of the Department of California and Pacific, by the Department Bylaws, the National Constitution and Regulations, and National Policies, it is hereby ordered as follows: Section 1: On Aug 29, 2007, Brother CLARK SEUM of the Gen. Phil Sheridan Camp 4 passed away in Washington State, where he had lived for the past year. He was a 53-year member of Camp 4, and a life member of the American Legion and the VFW. Brother SEUM was a veteran of WWII and Korea. Brother SEUM was a recipient of the Meritorious Service Award, and a truly dedicated member of our Order. U.S. Grant Camp 9, passed away suddenly, at his home in Modesto. He was 66 years old. Brother BRAZELTON was a well known and well respected former Prosecutor for Stanislaus County, and a truly dedicated member of our Order. His passing leaves a widow, 3 sons and a stepson as well as a void in our Department that will be difficult to fill. Section 2: The Department and all Camp Charters

Section 4: The Department of California and of Brother BRAZELTON and to the Brothers of his Camp. this 11th day of September in the year of our Lord Two Thousand Seven, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred thirtysecond, By the authority vested in me as Commander of the, by the Department Bylaws, the National Constitution and Regulations, and National Policies, it is hereby ordered as follows: Section 1: On October 19, 2007, Brother EDSON TURNER "ED" STROBRIDGE, JR. of the Sgt. William Pittenger Camp No. 21, passed away in San Luis Obispo, California, after a courageous and valiant battle with cancer. He was 80 years old. Section 2: Brother STROBRIDGE was a historian and a dedicated, long-time member of our Order. He was a recipient of the Meritorious Service Award from the National Organization in recognition of his service and work in locating the graves of Civil War veterans, obtaining and installing grave markers, and preserving a cannon in the G.A.R. plot of the cemetery in San Luis Obispo, California. He is survived by his wife, June, five children, twelve grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. He was 96 years old. Brother MABIE was the father of CHARLES K. MABIE, the grandfather of CHARLES W. MABIE, Camp 24 Commander and Department Senior Vice Commander, and great-grandfather to BEN and MARK MABIE, all members of Camp 24. Section 2: The Department and all Camp Charters Section 3: All Department Brothers are Article III, Sec. 9) for a period of thirty (30) Section 4: The Department of California and of Brother Mabie and to the Brothers of his Camp. this 9th day of January in the year of our Lord Two Thousand Eight, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred thirtythird, DEPARTMENT ORDER No. 10 PASSING OF BROTHER JOHN CUNNINGHAM By the authority vested in me as Commander of the, by the Department Bylaws, the National Constitution and Regulations, and National Policies, it is hereby ordered as follows: Section 1:On January 16, 2008, Brother COL. JOHN CUNNINGHAM of the Col. Roderick Matheson Camp 16, passed away. Brother CUNNINGHAM served his Camp as Council and Chaplain. RICHARD OVAN, of the Helen Smith Elementary School in Las Vegas, on behalf of Camp 12, for his classroom, after noticing that they only had a small hand held flag. Huntington Beach September 2007 CALVARY CATHOLIC CEMETERY HONORS CIVIL WAR VETERANS At its 125 th anniversary and annual All Souls Day Mass on 3 November 2007, the Phil Sheridan Camp No. 4 participated in the opening ceremonies and staffed tents to honor Civil War veterans buried in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in San José. Reese, PCC T he City of Monterey held its annual History Festival/Week October 5, 6, and 7, 2007. Lincoln Camp 10 of Santa Cruz and Sheridan Camp 4 of San José hosted a Civil War contingent with a living history on the grounds surrounding the Presidio Museum (also known as Fort Mervine). DC Jerry Sayre and Tad D. Campbell, PDC holding the parade banner Displays included Gen. George Thomas, portrayed by Camp 10 COMMANDER THOMAS BROWN and a Civil War surgeons post, operated by Camp 10 BROTHER DON FUSILIER.
