RRN 1,920 Associate Degree: Nursing Fall Graduate Exit Survey Results Prepared by Elisa Lewis Date: May 2, 2016

Introduction Thirty Chaffey College students completing the Associate Degree in Nursing program during the Fall semester replied to the Graduate Exit Survey. The purpose of the survey was to obtain information required for the accreditation process. Executive Summary Respondent Demographics (see Table 1. on Pages 4 and 5) 73% of survey respondents were female, 20% were male, 7% unknown 17% were 20-24 years of age, 28% were 25-29, 23% were 30-34, and 10% were 35-39, 17% were 40-49, and 3% 50 were years of age or older Student ethnicity was comprised of Caucasian (57%), Hispanic (17%), Asian (10%), African American (10%), Filipino (3%), and Unknown (3%) 97% identified English as their primary language and 3% identified French as their primary language 69% had no dependents living with them, 17% had 1 dependent, 10% had 2 dependents, 7% had 3, and 3% had 4 dependents 10% were single parents Employment Information (see Table 2. on Pages 5 and 6) Three graduates (10%) reported being hired to work following graduation with these graduates reporting an hourly starting wage ranging from $14.00- $16.00/hr. Graduates were hired at San Antonio Regional Hospital the Chaffey College Skills Lab Two graduates did receive employee orientation Employer Benefits of Student Who Reported Having Been Hired to Work Following Graduation (see Table 3. on Page 6) No graduate employer benefits information was provided Success Centers (see Table 4. on Page 7) 45% were advised to go to a Success Center 10% accessed a Success Center Student Services (see Table 5. on Page 7) Most of the students did not use any of the support services listed in Table 5 Respondents who accessed the following services gave high marks in helpfulness: 75% of students agreed that Career Services was helpful or very helpful, 89% agreed that Financial Aid was helpful or very helpful and 89% agreed that Health Services were helpful or very helpful, 79% agreed or strongly agreed that study skills support at the Success Center was helpful, and 94% agreed that the Library was helpful or very helpful. 2

Future Education Plans of ADN Program Students (see Table 6. on Page 8) 7% plan to earn an AA Degree Program Evaluation (see Table 7. on Page 9) Most students agreed or strongly agreed with all of the statements listed in Table 7 Students were most likely to strongly agree with all of the statements listed in Table 7, especially the following statements: Knowledge gained from the program is sufficient for entry level practice. Patient care learned during the program is sufficient for entry level practice. Critical thinking skills learned during the program are sufficient for entry level practice. 3
