Calvine s Coffee is based on family memories three of our six coffees are named after family members who inspired me: my grandmother, mother and daughter. Our company acknowledges small farms and farmers that are part of the Certified Rainforest Alliance, Fairtrade and Direct Trade. When and why did you decide to be an entrepreneur? As a young girl I always had an entrepreneurial mind. When meeting people I would tell them to remember my name because one day it would be a household name. In 2014, I decided to pursue my passion for the love of coffee and started Calvine's Coffee LLC. How has the Small Business Center assisted you? The Small Business Center has assisted me with business counseling, online business classes and free legal services. I continue to register for online classes, knowing it will improve my knowledge of business aspects. What is the most challenging aspect of owning your own business? My challenge is knowing when an opportunity arises and how to effectively make it work for my business. Calvine Frazier, founder, president, CEO Calvine s Coffee LLC The Pitch Calvine s Coffee is a gourmet specialty roast blend of coffee beans. All of the beans selected are prime (grade 1) coffee beans responsibly sourced from farmers around the world. Calvine s Coffee uses a state-of-the-art packing process, foil-lined bags and new zip bags with a degassing valve that ensures a longer coffee life for up to one year. When you launched your venture, how did you get your seed funding? All funds were provided by myself, with the help of my family. What advice would you give to other aspiring entrepreneurs? No matter where you come from or how old you are, if you have a passion and a dream, never give up. It's hard work, but it's going into your business.
