Infrmatin abut the schl The Ashcmbe Schl is a cmprehensive schl fr pupils f all abilities between the ages f 11 and 18 which cnverted in 2017 by frming a Multi Academy Trust, Suth East Surrey Schls Educatin Trust, as a partnership with 2 ther like-minded schls t keep the eths f the schl the same. There are apprximately 60 supprt staff emplyed by this large cmprehensive schl, wrking in the three main areas f curriculum, administrative and premises supprt. 2

THE ASHCOMBE SCHOOL Site Team Assistant Jb Title: Jb Purpse: Accuntable t: Key Tasks GENERAL HEALTH & SAFETY Respnsible fr mnitring health and safety measures determined by the Gvernrs and Senir Team by: SECURITY Respnsible fr the maintenance f security n the site by: Site Team Assistant T ensure that the buildings, grunds and services f The Ashcmbe Schl are maintained in a clean, safe and secure manner, in accrdance with the requirements f the Headteacher and the Gverning Bdy which will include achieving best value fr mney. Facilities Officer and ultimately the Headteacher via Senir Persnnel Key Respnsibilities On a weekly basis, attend a site team planning meeting with Facilities Officer and Site Team t plan the week ahead. This will include rutine scheduled tasks, adhc maintenance, cntractr visits and setups. Subsequently, n a daily basis, t priritise apprpriately. Liaising with the Facilities Officer regarding any site team issues and ntifying her f any scheduled tasks which have nt been cmpleted r which may require interventin. Regular mnitring f the nline helpdesk system in rder t priritise and apprpriately schedule and deply any adhc maintenance / setup tasks as they arise. Advising the Facilities Officer shuld a cntractr be required. Check site regularly fr any ptential Health and Safety issues. Take prmpt crrective actin where necessary. Reprt any defects that require further actin t Facilities Officer. Maintain equipment in a safe wrking cnditin Prvide safe access t buildings and classrms in the event f adverse weather Clean up accidental spillages Be aware f the asbests audit/register and adhere t this Prtable Appliance Testing in accrdance with rlling schedule Assist in management f water testing schedule Assist in checking fire safety devices in line with the schedule Ensure trees n site are regularly checked Ensure that all signage is in place Arrange fr remval f pests Ensure safe manual handling practices are adhered t Carry ut security arrangements fr buildings, cntents and grunds. Ensuring premises are lcked and unlcked at apprpriate times, preventing trespassing and the parking f unauthrised vehicles within the premises. Mnitr and perate fire and burglar alarm systems, have key hlder respnsibility and be a nminated cntact with the schl s cntracted security firm and ther agencies such as the plice and fire brigade. Attendance t lck and unlck the premises when required. Attendance at nnregular lettings and weekends where necessary. Cmplete time sheets n a regular mnthly basis t cver these lettings and agreed vertime. Arrange cver fr lcking up if unavailable n a particular evening. Out f hurs keyhlder respnsibilities. 3

Mnthly check f perimeter fence. REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE Respnsible fr ensuring that the buildings, fabric and services f the schl are maintained in a state f gd rder and repair by: VEHICLES Respnsible fr maintenance and safe peratin f schl vehicles by: Maintain an inventry f keys fr the schl. Undertake emergency, first line repairs and ther repairs/prcedures within capability and training. Where requirement falls utside f site team cmpetency, liaise with Facilities Officer re cntractr requirements. Examples: Plumbing repairs including unblcking sinks, tilets, urinals etc., and replacing tap washers. Checking and adjusting ball valves in cisterns. Replacing flat and arm in water strage tanks, where accessible. Decrating tasks such as painting ceilings, walls, windws and wdwrk, minr repairs t plaster and brickwrk. Repairing dr handles/latches/lcks and windw fastenings and adjusting ill-fitting drs. Repairing r fitting shelving, ntice bards and chalk bards. Mending tables, desks, chairs etc. Replacing twel and sap dispensers. Ensuring the tidiness f paths, drives and ther hard surfaces within the site grunds. Keeping paths, access pints and entrances free f snw and ice t ensure safe passage. Cllecting and dispse f refuse (i.e. emptying litter bins, recycling and litter picking all areas f the site as per the established rutines). Carrying ut regular checks and maintenance f drains and gullies t ensure free flwing and clean. Carrying ut rutine inspectin f ancillary equipment e.g. autmatic pumps, maintenance f batteries etc. Recrding meter readings fr gas, water and electricity. Undertaking emergency cleaning as required. Prviding prtering and handypersn services as required, undertaking furniture mving as apprpriate. Prvide adequate stck f cleaning materials and sundry items, allcate and dispatch Liaise with the Facilities Officer in the preparatin f lng and shrt term maintenance prgrammes and where apprpriate decide which repairs require utside cntractrs. Direct cntractrs t the site, explain nature f the repairs, mnitr their perfrmance and inspect cmpleted wrk. In additin, ensure that cntractrs are aware f relevant health and safety measures in frce at the schl. Reprt immediately t the Facilities Officer all areas f difficulty which cannt be dealt with. Ensuring the minibuses are in a radwrthy cnditin at all times. Liaise with Facilities Officer fr servicing, repairs and MOT s as apprpriate. 4

Ability t drive minibus desirable. OTHER DUTIES Ensure the staff wrk area is kept tidy and the envirnment is safe t use. Ensure safe cnstructin and use f lighting twer and staging. Reprt t Business Manager and Facilities Officer n resurcing needs in respect f enhancement f the premises. Keep a stck f apprpriate tls and materials. Keep recrds as apprpriate. This is a descriptin f the main duties and respnsibilities f the pst at the date f issue. The duties may change ver time as requirements and circumstances change. The persn in pst may als have t carry ut ther duties as may be necessary frm time t time and wuld be expected t undertake any reasnable task, as directed by their Line Manager. A site team unifrm is prvided fr all site team members. This shuld be maintained t a gd standard and wrn at all times. 5
