AHLCON INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL #Ahlconintl4SDGs 25 th September 2018 is a Red Letter day in the calendar of the United Nations as it marks completion of 3 wonderful years of working tirelessly for reaching the SDG Goals across the world. Ahlcon International School, has engaged in this field by successfully integrating the SDGs into its teaching learning process. The journey that started in 2016 has witnessed embracing of the Sustainable Development Goals by each section of the school and our all endeavours are aligned with SDGs. Inspired by our leaders and guided by our mentors, we have been able to design a curriculum highlighting the SDG in every step and every move of the school. Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) agenda will require everyone working in unison from all sectors. As a part of the education community it is our duty to ensure that our learners know the need of knowing and implementing the SDGs. We are fully aware that other institutions are also working on making SDGs a part of their curriculum. Celebrating the completion of 3 years since the UN adopted SDGs and also adoption of SDGs in education, we would like to invite schools to send their entries for various competitions being hosted by us, for all age groups of students. This is to showcase show how SDGs have been implemented in your teaching-learning process. 2

AHLCON INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL General Instructions : #Ahlconintl4SDGs 1) Registration form to be filled and sent by 16 th August 2018 positively. 2) Schools are required to mail the entries and the complete details of the participants on the E mail Ids as mentioned in the Guidelines for each competition separately. 3) For any queries, respective contact no's have been mentioned in the guidelines for each competition separately. 1) All competitions are themed on Sustainable Development Goals. 2) Once you confirm your school s participation through a mail, you will receive a confirmation mail within a day, in response from us. 3) Last day of submitting the entries is 31 st August 2018. No late entries will be entertained. 4) The decision of the judges will be final and binding. Any deviation from the General instructions, guidelines and rules as mentioned will lead to disqualification. Submissions after the last date will not be entertained. 3

TOPIC: ENGLISH GROUP RHYME RECITATION COMPETITION on SDGS CODE : Preprimary SDG GRADE: Prep No. of Entries: 1 Entry per School No. of Participants: One team of 12-15 students per School TIME LIMIT: 3-3.5 minutes 1) Each School will make a short video recording of the students reciting a rhyme based on any SDG theme. 2) The video must be in MP4 Format. 3) The video should be recorded with a clear white backdrop, good lighting and a closed space with no background noise. 4) The recording should be done in the respective school s premises only. 5) The entries can be sent directly via e-mail or uploaded online, and the link should be sent via e-mail to the e- mail ID preprimaryahl@gmail.com on or before 31 st August 2018. TOPIC: SELF- COMPOSED POEM CODE : Primary SDG Grade : IV No. of Entries: 2 per school (one in each language) No. of Participants: 2 per school Language : English and Hindi 1) Each School will send a typed poem in PDF using Font- Calibri for English & Unicode for Hindi, Font Size - 14, to the e- mail ID ahlconprimaryblog@gmail.com on or before 31 st August 2018. TOPIC: E BROCHURE ON THINK GLOBALLY, ACT LOCALLY CODE : Middle SDG Grade: VI VIII No. of entries: 1 Entry per School No. of Participants: 1 Student per School 1. The student will make the e-brochure in MS Publisher or Adobe Photoshop/ InDesign. 2. The brochure should be made as per the following guidelines: Choose any one SDG that you feel is of preeminent importance. Identify the challenges being faced related to the same. Suggest plausible solutions that you have worked upon at the student level, school level and community level. 3. The e - brochure should be of A4 size. Tri-folded in landscape view (sample in the next page). Both front and rear side has to be designed. 4. The text and pictures should be clearly visible and readable. 5. Original file in.psd (for Photoshop)/.indd (for InDesign)/.pub (for MS Publisher) should be mailed at the email ID sdg@ahlconinternational.in on or before 31 st August 2018. TOPIC: MAKING COMIC STRIPS ON TACKLING SOCIAL ISSUES CODE:Middle SDG Grade: VI VIII No. of Entries: 1 Entry per School No. of Participants: 1 Student per School 1. The students can select any SDG s on social issues like Gender Equality, Zero Hunger etc. 2. Design a comic strip with characters and situation of your choice depicting the social issues in your neighborhood and your contribution to tackle it. 3. The students will make the comic strip in Power Point. 4. The comic needs to be of 7-10 slides. 5. The dialogues should be clearly visible and readable. 6. Animation may or may not be used. 7. Insert the background sound/music. 8. Send the comic in PPT format at the email ID sdg@ahlconinternational.in by 31 st August 2018. TOPIC: QFIESTA (Online Quiz Competition) CODE: Senior SDG Grade: VI VIII No. of Entries: 50 Entries per School No. of Participants: 1 Student per entry 1. QFiesta is an Online Quiz Competition which aims at evaluating the knowledge, understanding and concept application of the participants on the theme sustainable development goals. The competition will serve as a platform that will not only challenge the knowledge base of the participants but will also, serve as a base to enhance their research attitude and will develop their problem solving and decision making abilities. 2. Only 50 students from classes VI to VIII can participate from each school. 3. The link of the competition will be sent only on the Email ID given by the school in the registration form. 4. The quiz will be organized online on 21 st August 2018. 5. The link to participate in quiz will remain open from 8 am to 2 pm on 21 st August 2018. 6. Quiz will consist of multiple choice questions. 7. There is no negative marking. 8. Top three position holders will be felicitated in the valedictory ceremony. 9. In the form of a short movie, schools must display the planning, application and implementation of their practices and its impact on the students, parents and community as a whole. 2) Each school must submit a short movie of 3 minutes. 3) One entry will be accepted per school. 4) A movie must highlight the following: Series of activities and practices initiated. Impact of the activities on students, parents and community. Each activity must be connected to the theme of SDGs. 5) The movie must be submitted in MP4 format. 6) The entries to be sent to the mail ID seniorahl4sdg@gmail.com on or before 31 st August 2018.
