GENERAL COMMENTS GUIDEBOOK FOR MEETING The GuideBook App for the Governing Board created by members of ITCom and CommCom is now live and available for download. 6 MTH TRIAL MEMBERS Tracing the trial members that have joined since the program started provides the following information: Joined (June 2010 to January 2016) 18344 Non Renewals after: 1 st Billing 13643 2 nd Billing 1757 3 rd Billing 665 4 th Billing 319 5 th Billing 151 6 th Billing 31 Still Member 1772 The January date is used as that is the last date that we have had the first renewal period. We have not yet reached the first renewal period for real 18 month members although some of the squadrons used to manually charge the 18 for 12 month option using the 6 month trial system.
PAID MEMBER INTERNET MEMBERSHIP TRACKING: Paid Members Sept 2009 3473 Non-Renewal 2121 61% Current Internet Member 636 18% (47%) Current Other Squadron 716 21% (53%) We are currently reworking the graphical analysis normally presented in this report to more accurately reflect the true position of the paid internet members as opposed to those who were given a 6 month trial membership by virtue of purchasing the ABC3 online course. This practice ceased in January.

Pearson, AP Websites: o Advisers are now using the new forms for evaluating the websites. o We are still in need of 2-3 more advisers. Publications: o Advisers are now using the new forms for evaluating the newsletters. Reviewed to date: 907 Contacts to editors: 609 Continuing Initiative: o We are sending the monthly News from National email to all newsletter editors. HERITAGE AND PROTOCOL COMMITTEE R/C Kenneth T. Perigo, SN Stf/C Howard Sklar, AP: Stf/C Kent Simpson, AP Stf/C Kent Simpson has put the final touches on the Seminar scheduled for the Governing Board. He continues to field questions regarding filing historian reports on the web site. Stf/C Howard Sklar hasn t received any requests for Anniversary Borders this summer. The committee has responded to several question related proper display of various flags. MEMBERSHIP SERVICES COMMITTEE R/C Connie Beckman, SN Premise for 2016: This year will be spent establishing this committee, setting objectives, and accomplishing those objectives. Accomplishments since last report: o Assigned districts to the three Staff Commanders. o Sent an email to all D/Cs that don t have MSLs. The results were very slim. I will emphasis how easy it is to the DCs at the Governing Board. P/D/C Ann Peltier is timing how long it will take a MSL to review Unknown Address and P/R/C Roberta Doughterty will review all unfound members via Ancestry.com to see they are on the SSN Morality List. o Operated the DB2000 help desk and the USPS help desk as before. Stf/C Anna Morris testing of a ticket tracking system has shown that there is not a need for this detailed a system. o Designed a postcard to send to members who renew for the squadrons, and/or districts to send out.
Work in Process: o Revising the MSR Committee Policy and Procedures Manual to simplify how things are to be done. This Manual will be completed after the Governing Board after input is received from D/Cs and the whole committee. o Working with Lena Padro to establish procedures to sync information showing do not contact and not found with the HQ database codes. o Establishing procedures for squadrons to communicate with members who are late in paying dues using email and phone calls. o Establish procedures for squadrons/district to communicate with members who have renewed. o Preparing talks or both the Administrative Meeting and District Commanders/Exec Meeting. o Establish a method/schedule for committee members to report their progress, frustrations and problems to the Rear Commander. Also, a roll-out plan for all areas of responsibility is being prepared for presentation to the committee at the Governing Board. o Publishing procedures of what needs to be done in order for a squadron to dissolve. Also, method of insuring that all members are transferred to another squadron. Immediate Plans: o Establish a method/schedule for committee members to report their progress, frustrations and problems to the Rear Commander. Also, a roll-out plan for all areas of responsibility will be prepared for presentation to the committee at the Governing Board. o Prepare talks or both the Administrative Meeting and District Commanders/Exec Meeting. o Prepare for the DB2000 Seminar with Anna Morris. Problems To Be Brought to the BOD. o At this time, there are still questions that need answers but they are organizational in nature and need to be decided by the committee before being brought to the BOD. Osmond, N o Continues support for data center at HQ. o Continues support for new development server at SC location. o Continues working with cooperative charting on behalf of ITCom to convert DepthWiz (VB6) to DepthWiz (C#) so future needs can be supported. o Continues support for ebook project. Filios, SN-IN o ITCom lead for new USPS web site which is a major ITCom role. o Assisting putting up new pages for some committees and departments. o Actively working with districts and squadrons using SDS and SSS for new site. o Worked on team for ABC RFP. o Working with Educational Outreach on ebooks. o Documenting existing databases o Preparing for Pittsburgh meeting o Participating Area Monitor meeting as John Bradley s replacement. D/Lt Ken Guscott, JN o Made 16 new web pages to support DB2000 these replaced and augmented the old outdated ones. o Updated several old pdf tutorials to reflect current situation many of these dated back over 10 years. A lot of changes since then. o Edited the old page folders in DB2000/ deleting 650 MB of redundant files. (I backed them up on CD just in case) o Updated DB2000 to version 9.7.4 primarily to eliminate email updates to HQ. We were no longer able to process them. Stf/C Paul D.
