Pursuant to FOIA, the following information is made available to the general public: BACKGROUND ABOUT THE KENDALL COUNTY STATE S ATTORNEY S OFFICE PURPOSE: The is elected by the residents of Kendall County for a term of four years. The serves as the Chief Law Enforcement Officer for Kendall County. The has the exclusive and statutory responsibility of prosecuting violations of the criminal and traffic laws of the State of Illinois as well as ordinances enacted by Kendall County. The is also the legal advisor to other Kendall County officials, including the County Board, and is responsible for representing and advising Kendall County in civil litigation. OFFICE: The contact information for the Kendall County s Office is: 807 W. John Street, Yorkville, Illinois 60560; Telephone: (630) 553-4157 Facsimile (630) 553-4204. The Kendall County s Office also maintains the Kendall County Child Advocacy Center ( CAC ). The CAC uses space to conduct interviews in the Kendall County Health Department at 811 W. John Street, Yorkville, Illinois 60560, and such interviews are conducted by employees of the Kendall County Health Department. However, contact information for the CAC is the Kendall County s Office. The Kendall County s Office currently employs approximately 20 full-time and 2 part-time employees. A block diagram of the Kendall County s Office s functional subdivisions is attached as Exhibit 1.

BUDGET: BOARDS: The total amount of the Kendall County s operating budget for this fiscal year is $1,553,514. There are no boards, commissions, committees, or councils that operate in an advisory capacity relative to the operation of the s Office or that exercise control over its policies or procedures, or to which the s Office is required to report and be answerable for its operations. The Kendall County s Office provides staff support to the Kendall County Juvenile Justice Council, the CAC and the Children s Advocacy Center Advisory Board. A listing of the Kendall County Children s Advocacy Center Advisory Board members is attached as Exhibit 2. The Kendall County State s s Office will respond to all FOIA requests in accordance with the procedures set forth in FOIA and all other applicable federal and state laws. COPY COSTS: Except when a fee is otherwise fixed by statute, the Kendall County State s s Office will charge the following rates for copies of requested records: TYPE OF DOCUMENT Black and white, letter or legal sized copies Color copies and odd-sized copies Computer disc, tape-cassette, compact disc, and/or any other recording medium A driver s record abstract No charge for the first 50 pages and 15 cents per page thereafter 50 cents per page for the first 500 pages and 45 cents per page thereafter The actual cost for the computer disc, tape-cassette, compact disc, and/or other recording medium $1.00 per abstract ADDITIONAL COSTS: The Freedom of Information Act permits a public body to recover the following additional costs: Commercial Requests: $10/hour for searching, retrieving, and examining for redactions, excluding the first 8 hours spent searching or retrieving. Actual costs of retrieving records from 3rd party-owned, off-site storage facility. Voluminous Requests: The follow fees will apply to responses to voluminous requests provide in electronic format.
