SENIOR AWARDS NIGHT Monday, June 4, 2018 6:00pm In the Gym Students will be notified ahead of time if they are receiving recognition at this event. Family and friends are invited to attend this ceremony to honor the accomplishments of graduating seniors. Awards and cash scholarships for academics and athletics will be presented. Please dress professionally. APPROPRIATE DRESS FOR GRADUATION This is a formal occasion and needs to be treated with DIGNITY and CLASS. Appropriate dress for graduation is similar to the requirements for Grad Night at Magic Mountain. Boys should wear appropriate clothing such as dress pants and shirts with collars. Boys are encouraged, but not required to wear ties. Girls must wear low heel or flat shoes (because of artificial turf) and their choice of dressy pants, skirts or dresses. Seniors may not alter or write on their cap or gown in any way. Seniors must enter the gym carrying the cap and gown on his or her arm. Each senior is permitted to wear only one-flower lei and may not carry flowers. No other types of leis will be permitted (including leis made of candy or money). The only sashes, cords or other personalized items that may be worn over the gown must be issued by a recognized school organization and approved by the site administration. Bobby pins may be necessary to hold the mortarboard (hat) on properly for both boys and girls. The top of the hat must be parallel to the ground. Students should bring the bobby pins and put the mortarboard on after the final security check in the gym. The tassel is worn over the right temple until the completion of the ceremony. The Senior class officers will lead the class in the turning of the tassels to the left side at the conclusion of the ceremony.
