One course usually consists of 3 credits with 3 classroom hours per week, with the exception of Korean Language courses. Students are encouraged to register for 15 to 18 credits per semester. f) exams Absolute evaluation for exchange students (no curve) Students are required to stay until the end of the scheduled exams. No special early exams or resits available. g) grading Ewha's grading system : A+, A, A-/ B+, B, B-/ C+, C, C-/ D+, D, D-/ and F (Full Score = 4.3) A : excellent; B: above average; C: average; D: pass; F: fail (0 credit) Others: Student will receive a grade of "W" if he/she withdraws from the course. A student will receive a grade of "F" if he/she fails to attend classes without officially withdrawing from the course. All applications should be submitted online only. Before pressing the submit button, make sure to verify every information has been input correctly. d) application document Applicants are asked to submit all of the following materials during online application process. Ewha requires only the digital documents for student s application. All documents must be prepared in English or Korean, and in JPG or PDF format. - Standard ID photo Photographs should be in 3 cm x 4 cm size, scanned and saved in a JPG format. - Official Academic Transcript A transcript which states the cumulative GPA is required to be submitted. If the home institution does not have a GPA system, a signed official letter from the international office guaranteeing that the applicant s academic achievement is over 75% needs to be submitted with the official academic transcript. - Health & Medical Clearance Form Also downloadable at the online application site - Passport copy Please copy the first page which has your name and passport number. - Statement of Purpose Stating student s purpose and plans of international exchange program study at Ewha, written in English or Korean (1500-4000 English letters or 1500-2000 Korean characters). - Student Agreement Also downloadable at the online application site - Overseas Health Insurance Certificate This will be additionally requested to admitted students. *** Any of information here in this fact sheet can change according to systemic matters. OTHER INFORMATION 1) fees After receiving admission from the Office of International Affairs, students will be given an invoice at the orientation held before the start of the semester. The invoice will include mandatory or optional fees for each individual student to be paid within one week from the start of the semester. All fees may be paid directly at the OIA office, at the on-campus Shinhan Bank, or through wire transfer. No personal checks or credit cards will be accepted.
