Please Note: The SGA Constitution and Code of Laws dictates that all Applicants must be present at both the SOLO Fund Committee Hearing as well as the SGA Senate Meeting. Failure to appear will automatically result in no funding. Summer SOLO Sessions will not require attendance. **In addition to this application, please attach a detailed budget for your on-campus event. Both the application, filled out in its entirety, and the budget shall constitute a completed SOLO Fund application. ** 2

SOLO Superfund Application s and Deadlines **Please arrive early to all meetings to be prepared to begin promptly after the start of the meeting. All meetings have a required minimum of business casual attire for the standard of dress. Tennessee Technological University SOLO Fund Application SUMMER SOLO Terms and Conditions We Understand and Affirm that: (Initial that you have read terms & conditions where provided) (Student) (Faculty Adv) 1. Any funds allocated will be used solely for the purpose stated. 2. Under no circumstance can a request be processed retroactively. 3. All applicants must have a representative from the organization requesting funding at both the upcoming SOLO Fund Allocations Committee meeting and the following SGA Senate Meeting. 4. Nothing is finalized until the Senate votes on the funding application. Then the SGA President will sign the funding application and approve or veto. Under the SGA Constitution, the SGA President has the authority to veto the application. The Vice President for Student Affairs also has the right to approve or veto all funding applications. 5. This organization will be responsible for filling out all proper paperwork before and after the event. Failure to complete paperwork could result in no funding. 6. Requests for an honorarium or other contracted program and/or entertainment must be approved by the Senate at least 2-3 weeks before the event. You must contact Judy Hull, Director of Business Services, within two working days of the Senate s approval, to complete a contract. 7. Any excess funds will be reimbursed to the SGA SOLO Fund account. This includes revenue generated by the funded event, up to the amount allocated by the SOLO Fund. 8. Requests for purchases on/off campus must be submitted to the SGA office at least four weeks before the scheduled event. 9. Applicants must attach a sample of all advertising to be distributed for the SOLO funded event. All advertisements must have the SGA logo AND the phrase Funds provided by SGA/SOLO Fund. The SGA Logo should be downloaded from the SGA Website at http://www.tntech.edu/sga/forms/. 10. In addition to the above advertising requirements, all advertisements must have the Student Government s Disclaimer clause. Events who advertise without this required statement will be disqualified from receiving any funds from the SGA in the future. A. TTU disclaimer states: This event has been financially sponsored, either entirely or partially by the TTU Student Government Association (SGA) and its SOLO Fund. The views contained herein at this event or program does not represent the views of the TTU, the SGA President or other members, the University, or the Tennessee Board of Regents. The TTU SGA is fully in accord with the belief that all events and programs should be afforded the same opportunities that all US Citizens receive from the First Amendment of the United States Constitution. 11. TTU s Statement of Policy states that Tennessee Technological University hereby reaffirms the policy of the TBR System that the University will not discriminate against any employee or applicant to for employment because of race, color, religion, national origin, sex (except where sex is a bona fide occupational qualification, disability, age or 7

because of his / her status as a qualified veteran with a disability, veteran of the Vietnam era, or other protected veteran. Similarly, the University shall not, on the basis of a protected status, subject any student to discrimination under any educational program. No student shall be discriminatorily excluded from participation nor denied the benefits of any educational program on the basis of a protected status. 12. Organizations will only be able to receive funding from the SOLO Fund up to three times per academic year, and no more than two funded applications per semester. For the Summer session, no more than $500 per application will be allocated to any organization. In order for a student organization to receive more than $500, the event must be deemed an exceptional benefit by two-thirds consent of the SGA Senate. 13. The SGA SOLO Fund Allocations Committee has the right to review this organization s financial standing. 14. Within 2 weeks following the event, each organization must submit a follow-up form listing their complete budget and including copies of any/all receipts for the event. If, on follow up after your event, SOLO Fund policies were not followed, future funding will be jeopardized. 15. The following requests will NOT be considered or funded by the SOLO Fund: A. No purchase of alcoholic beverages. B. No activities for which academic credit will be awarded or activities to meet minimum requirements for an academic course will be considered. C. No requests for general operating funds, as opposed to specific projects or activities, will be considered. D. No purchase of food unless it is deemed appropriate by the nature of the event and must be available to all students on campus. E. No requests supporting projects, which in any way violate any Federal, State, or local law, or university policy, will be considered. F. Events that are not held on the Tennessee Tech campus. G. Activities which benefit only student members, faculty, or affiliates of a specific organization are not eligible for funding. Funding will be provided to a student organization primarily based on the quality of the documented project. 16. The undersigned have read and understand the Administrative Policies and Procedures and the Student Handbook governing the allocation of funds available in the SGA constitution. Everything stated on the above form is true. 17. The SGA SOLO Fund program may be dismantled at any time as the executive branch deems appropriate. We the undersigned, hereby authorize any official or office related to the funding process to review our organization s financial records. We also agree to use allocated funds only for expenses approved by the proper officials.
