Our Mission The mission of the Bluefield State College School of Nursing and Allied Health is to provide a quality, affordable and geographically accessible educational foundation for professions of Nursing and studies in allied health. The school strives to meet these needs by providing quality instruction and individualized advising to students seeking careers in healthcare professions. Professional codes of conduct and ethics are strongly emphasized by allied health professions; thus this school strives to uphold those codes in its faculty and instill these characteristics into aspiring professionals.

Nursing program 2010/2011-27 2011/2012-31 2012/2013-28 Fall 2013 accepted more students in efforts to aid with the RN shortage Anticipate 38 to enroll Fall 2014 BSC will seek to further increase number enrolled with adequate clinical space and state board of nursing approval. Currently (34) 2 nd year and (26) 1 st year students are enrolled on the Erma Byrd Center campus
RN BSN MOVING THE NURSING PROFESSION INTO THE FUTURE Research shows that agencies with more BSN prepared nurses have decreased mortality and accident rates 2010 Groundbreaking report from the Institute of Medicine, The Future of Nursing, stated: 80% increase in baccalaureate prepared nurses needed by the year 2020. Seamless Transition: A.S. to BSN to MSN 2003 BSC and MU collaborated to provide MSN education for students in Beckley and Bluefield. Tracks are offered in: Nurse Educator Nurse Administrator Family Nurse Practitioner BSC offers the BSN degree completely online in a 3-4 semester format
