CURRENT SCHOLARSHIPS Box 2 The Chance Rodgers AFJROTC Memorial - applicants must be a graduating high school senior, a cadet in the AFJROTC program, have a 3.0 GPA or better and be accepted to an accredited college/university. See application for further details. 4/7/15 Henley 3 DAR Eulalona Chapter - The topic for this year's scholarship is "Describe how the United Constitution better unified America that the Articles of the Confederation". The winning applicant will receive an award of $1,000. Applicants must be a graduating Klamath County senior who will graduate with a cumulative GPA of 3.5. 3/27/14 Local 4 The Amy Heryford Ousley and James Heryford Ousley Educational Fund- Student who have attended a Klamath County High School for all four years are eligible to apply. They must also be residents of Klamath County as of July 1st of the year they are applying for this scholarship. Students must have a good scholastic record (3.0 GPA) and have a need for financial assistance. Applicants may attend any public college, university, community college, vocational or technical school in the U.S. See applications for further details. Math, engineering, science, business, education and computers are the priority fields that are most in demand for Native Tribes. s range from $500 to $5,000 per academic year and are awarded on merit and the basis of potential to improve the lives of Indian people. Applicants must be enrolled or enrolling at a college or university that is accredited. Enrollment must be full time. Students must be 1/4 or more degree American Indian and be an enrolled member of a U.S. tribe. Additionally, students applying to this program must also apply for other sources of funding. Two Klamath Basin students will be awarded local scholarships move on to the next level of completion. The selection criteria includes scholarship, leadership and financial need. Academic, honors and awards, leadership and extracurricular activities are considered. Applicants must be US citizens and need not be related to an Elks member. College students are excluded. Males and females compete separately. Students can apply at http://www.elks.org/enf/scholars/mvs.cfm. Students need to follow the application directions carefully. 7 Oregon State Elks Vocational Grant- The Elks Association is offering a $1,400 grant to senior students who are planning to attend a Vocational/Technical School. This grant is not for students planning to earn a Bachelor's degree at a university. Selection criteria includes: motivation/responsibility, financial need, skills & abilities, grades, neatness of application. Be African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American. 2. Be a citizen or legal permanent resident of the United. 3. 12 Have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 4. Ben enrolling in an accredited university or college in the fall of 2015 as a full-time, degree seeking, first year student. 5. This is available for high school seniors who would like to study in Italy for the summer of 2015. Awarded to Oregon High School seniors for use as a full time student at any Oregon accredited public, private college, university or trade school. OSAC-(Oregon Student Access Commission) application is available now online. Seniors can go to 17 http://www.oregonstudentaid.gov to set up their student profiles, Early Bird search for scholarship and begin the online application. A 7th 2/15/2015 semester transcript is required for this application and it must be Last uploaded to the online application. Students should submit a deadline written request to the guidance office to have their transcript 3/1/2015 emailed to themselves. The final OSAC deadline is March 1, 2015. Early bird priority deadline is February 15, 2015. Statewide 18 19 Associated Oregon Loggers Inc. Non-Member - Applicants must submit and application form, an original essay on "What challenges do you see in the field of logging and what are your views on meeting the challenges", high school transcripts, SAT or ACT scores, and an acceptance letter to a four year college which is accredited by the Society of American Foresters. Selection criteria include candidates studies and experiences, scholastic performance, essay quality, and legibility, neatness and accuracy of information submitted. The award is $1,500 awarded annually. See application for further details. Rogue Credit Union - Seven scholarships are available to graduating seniors. Each is a one time gift of $1,500. The committee usually selects students in the top quarter of their class who have worked hard against adversity.
