Ng Teng Fong General Hospital Visitor Information

Welcome Welcome to the Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH). Our patients need the support of their family and friends during their hospital stay and recovery. In consideration of other patients who also need their rest, we request that all visitors visiting NTFGH adhere to the visiting hours and visitor quota mentioned in this brochure. Children have lower levels of immunity and we strongly discourage bringing babies and children under 7 years old into the wards, especially into the ICU / High Dependency. What are the visiting hours? You may visit your loved one daily from: Monday to Friday 12.00pm to 2.00pm 5.00pm to 8.30pm Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays 12.00pm to 8.30pm There will be no restriction on visiting hours on the day of a patient's admission. How many visitors can a patient have? Ward General Ward / ICU / High Dependency Isolation Ward Non-Ward Ambulatory Unit / Endoscopy / Kidney Unit Visitor Quota 4 visitors at any one time 2 visitors at any one time Visitor Quota 2 accompanying visitors at any one time

Registration The Visitor Management System tracks visitor flow in NTFGH and facilitates contact-tracing in the event of a pandemic. Visitors entering the general wards and ICU / High Dependency / Isolation wards are required to register before entering. Registration is required even for visitors accompanying patients to day procedures at the Ambulatory Unit / Endoscopy, or appointments at the Kidney Unit. A one-time registration is required at your first visit and will be valid until the patient's discharge. What is required at registration? Registration at self-registration kiosks is only applicable to Singaporeans and Permanent Residents holding the following identification cards: NRIC Singapore Driving License Student / Senior Citizen EZ-link Card The following information are required at registration: Patient s Name (Full or part) Patient s Ward (e.g. B5, B6) and Bed number Visitor s NRIC Visitor s mobile number (local) Patient s NRIC / FIN (required for Ambulatory Unit / Endoscopy / Kidney Unit)

Visitors who do not have these or foreigners who hold work permits, employment passes and overseas passports are required to register at the Visitor Registration Counter. A registration label will be issued upon successful registration. Patients going to the Kidney Unit can proceed straight to the gantries, scan their identification cards and enter. Patients who do not have these with them can approach our Visitor Registration Counter for assistance. All information provided by visitors will be kept in the strictest confidence and used solely for the purpose of ward visits and contact-tracing during pandemics. What happens after registration? Visitors may proceed to the gantries to scan their identification cards or registration label to enter the wards. This will apply during visiting hours Where can I register? You may do so at: Self-Registration Kiosks at Levels 1 and 2, Tower B (NTFGH Wards) Visitor Registration Counter at Level 1, Tower B (NTFGH Wards) www.ntfgh.com.sg

What happens if a patient reaches his / her maximum visitor quota? If a patient has reached his / her maximum visitor quota, other visitors will not be able to enter and will instead be placed on a waiting list and notified via SMS once there is an available slot. Visitors are required to arrive at the gantry within 10 minutes of receiving the SMS. Frequently Asked Questions Q: Why am I unable to scan at the gantries? A: The following reasons apply: You may be trying to enter the wards outside our visiting hours The patient you are visiting has exceeded his / her visitor quota Earlier visitors did not scan successfully while exiting

Q: Why is there a need to limit the number of visitors? A: Our patients appreciate a restful stay in a quiet and comfortable environment. For this reason, each patient is allowed a maximum of 4 visitors during visiting hours. Q: Is there a need for visitors to register again at the next visit? A: A one-time registration is all it takes and will be valid until a patient's discharge. Visitors may proceed directly to the gantry at their next visit and scan their identification cards to enter. Please note that this applies only during visiting hours. Q: What if a visitor forgot to bring his / her identification card / document? A: A visitor may still register at a Self-Registration Kiosk or get assistance from the Visitor Registration Counter. Upon successful registration, a registration label will be issued. Q: Must a child register too? A: Yes, a child is considered a visitor and must register as well. Children without a local student pass may do so at the Visitor Registration Counter. Q: What if a visitor cannot remember the patient s details (e.g. ward number)? A: He / she may approach the Visitor Registration Counter for assistance. Q: Why is a mobile number needed at registration? A: A mobile number allows us to SMS you should you need to be placed on a waiting list when a patient has reached his / her maximum visitor quota. It will be used for contact-tracing when the need arises. Q: What happens if visitors would like to visit a critically-ill patient? Does the visitor quota and visiting hours apply? A: No, the visitor quota and visiting hours do not apply to visitors of critically-ill patients.

Q: Does the visitor quota apply to visitors of the ICU / High Dependency patients? A: Yes, the visitor quota of 4 visitors per patient applies to visitors of the ICU / High Dependency patients. Q: I have been asked to meet your hospital staff about my family member s condition. Am I allowed to enter outside visiting hours? A: If you have a scheduled meeting with our hospital staff, you may approach the Visitor Registration Counter for assistance. Q: I am a patient, do I need to register? A: No, you do not have to register if you are a patient with us. You may scan your identification card at the gantry to enter. Visitors accompanying you will have to register at either the Self-Registration Kiosk or Visitor Registration Counter. Q: I am a registered visitor / caregiver. Do I have to re-register if my loved one has transferred from NTFGH to JCH (vice versa)? A: No, your visitor / caregiver status automatically applies at JCH / NTFGH. Please approach the Visitor Registration Counter if you require further assistance.
