Every midshipman is a studentathlete. A center celebrating total commitment to developing moral, mental and physical leaders. Ron Terwilliger 63 UNITED STATES NAVAL ACADEMY CONSTRUCTION OF A PHYSICAL MISSION CENTER AT RICKETTS HALL

The expansion of Ricketts Hall, that commenced in January 2018, represents one of the Naval Academy s Physical Mission strategic priorities. With nearly 25,000 square feet of functional usage and interactive exhibit space, the center will celebrate the storied history of Navy athletics while simultaneously serving as a testament to the Naval Academy s profound commitment to the physical development of the entire Brigade of Midshipmen. Located adjacent to Ricketts Hall, this impressive facility will present the many facets of the Physical Mission to the Academy s more than two million annual visitors.

Rendering of the entry of the Ron Terwilliger Center for Student-Athletes The Physical Mission Center has been made possible through the philanthropic leadership of Ron Terwilliger 63. Prestigious alumni and friends of the Naval Academy are also committing to the development and construction of various areas within the Center, through generous leadership gifts. This brochure highlights the many opportunities still available for additional philanthropic support within the facility.

ENTRY From the moment visitors see the stairs, they know that this is going to be a unique experience. An exhibit that challenges the individual to envision a future of honor, service, and commitment. WELCOME THEATER As visitors reach the second floor, they are immediately posed the Center s key question for prospective candidates to the Academy and our own student-athletes: Who will you become?

AUDITORIUM Visitors soon learn that the will to win does not just apply to athletics, as they watch a highenergy video that highlights the comprehensive experience of a student-athlete at the Academy. Certain recruited sports will add their own customized content to this video then follow with a targeted presentation. HALL OF CHAMPIONS Visitors can learn about the successes of the top student-athletes to graduate and be commissioned from the Academy and their perspectives on the impact and significance of the brotherhood and sisterhood of Navy Athletics.

LEADERS CIRCLE Large, colorful displays of Alumni leaders, Distinguished Graduates, Academic AllAmericans, Notable Graduates, and other leaders recognized by the Academy, surround the theater entry; welcoming visitors to the Leaders Circle and exemplifying the Academy as the first step toward a lifetime of leadership. CONFERENCE ROOM An executive conference room, equipped with the latest technology, offers small group meeting and hospitality space with views of the beautiful Severn River.

EXPLORATION HALL Visitors now have a chance to embrace what it means to be a student-athlete at Navy and whether they are up to the challenge. SPORTS PERFORMANCE & REHABILITATION CENTER The 25,000 square foot Physical Mission Center addition to Ricketts Hall, staffed by training professionals and equipped with the foremost in conditioning, rehabilitation and medical technology, ensures that every member of the Brigade of Midshipmen maximizes their physical potential with the finest equipment and resources available today. This is the only facility of its kind on the Academy grounds and will be administered in conjunction with Brigade medical and the certified sports medicine staff of the Naval Academy Athletic Association. MIDSHIPMAN EXHIBIT A virtual mirror invites visitors to see themselves as Navy midshipmen and student-athletes by virtually projecting them into the latest in Navy Under Armour gear as well as midshipman uniforms.

ARMY-NAVY Visitors can also learn about the most revered rivalry in all of college sports and the highest ideals behind America s Game. NAVY LEGENDS EXHIBIT Visitors will be introduced to the accolades and stories of many of Navy s greatest Athletic legends.

WHO WILL I BECOME? EXHIBIT Prospective student-athletes can make their own Who I Will Become movie trailer by assembling clips from their desired sport, major, and service community. Other visitors can create their own pro-navy spirit spots. The videos can be easily shared on social media as an aspiration, a remembrance, or even a commitment to this vision. Women s Athletics This exhibit will include the history of women s athletics at Navy, along with a tribute to many of the pioneer coaches and student-athletes who advanced these opportunities for women.
