All Saints Catholic School SCHOOL NEWSLETTER April 20, 2016 PRINCIPAL POSTINGS On days like today I find the words of St. Philip Neri- Find Joy in Each Day easy to follow! We celebrated our grandparents at the North and South Campus this week. Tomorrow we celebrate our grandparents at the West Campus. It brings us all JOY to see our children enjoying the company of their nanas, yayas, grampas, papas, nonos, grams, gramps and grandmas and grandpas. Please thank them on behalf of our school family for joining us this week at our three campuses. A special thank you goes to Mrs. Kushner, Mrs. Tanke and their team of volunteers who coordinated these three days for us and thanks to our Middle School students who helped out as well. This past weekend we began welcoming to the Eucharistic table some of our Second Graders. This will continue in the coming weeks as the children who belong to over 14 different parishes celebrate this special day with their church families. We also have a 2 nd grader celebrating her Baptism and a 4 th grader making his First Holy Communion. Please pray for all of them in the coming days and for the teachers who form them. Mrs. Gaertner, Mrs. Carroll, Ms. Curry, Ms. Henthorn, Mrs. McElyea and Mrs. Caronti take this part of their job seriously and do it well. In addition, each tries to attend the celebrations taking place on a variety of Saturdays and Sundays throughout April and May. They feel blessed and humbled to have this role in the lives of our 2 nd grade children. Saturday is our Derby Days fundraiser. It is going to be a great event. Each classroom has decorated horses for our Run for the Roses Game. Patrons will be able to bet on the best horse. That bet gets the patron a chance at a 50/50 raffle and provides the class with a chance to win a root beer float party for the class. There are many other games of chance, raffles and live auction items up for bidding. The event is FREE and includes food. Beverages are available for purchase. Come on out and sample some of our Mint Julip Slush, a glass of wine, enjoy a soda, and socialize with your friends. Derby hats and bow ties optional but be sure and buy a chance to bet on the mystery hat and win a prize. The event, which includes derby games and raffles, begins at 5:00 PM with the live auction beginning at 6:45 PM. The night should wrap up around 9:00 PM. I hope to see you there. With a grateful heart, Dr. Jackie Lichter Together we will teach children to see the world through the eyes of Christ and to model the lives of the Saints in a rigorous academic environment.
