This brochure explains how seniors may apply for the many scholarships awarded to Fox Lane students through the generosity of special groups, faculty, community organizations, parents, families of former students and members of the community. These scholarships represent every aspect of school involvement and school service. Students are responsible for all deadlines and materials Contents: Description of scholarships - How to Apply Checklist summarizing this information GENERAL APPLICATION APPLICATIONS DUE NO LATER THAN FRIDAY FEBRUARY 16, 2018 2:30 p.m. in the Guidance Department.

Determine the scholarships for which you qualify using enclosed checklist. Identify scholarships that require SPECIAL APPLICATIONS (available online). Fill out one (1) GENERAL APPLICATION leaving top space APPLICATION FOR blank. Make copies of completed GENERAL APPLICATION for number of scholarships needed. Fill empty top line with name of each scholarship needed. (This is cover sheet). Label recommendation envelopes with scholarship name and student s name. (Do not put application in envelope, only recommendations) Staple your ACTIVITY SHEET/RESUME to each GENERAL APPLICATION. Guidance will attach your transcript to all applications. Any questions? AMERICAN LEGION POST #136-THE MOSES TAYLOR, JR. SCHOLARSHIP 4 scholarships. Criteria: satisfactory academic standing and outstanding school or community service. Donor selects. Apply by General Application. AMERICAN LEGION POST #136-LADIES AUXILIARY A female descendant of a Legionnaire or veteran who has demonstrated excellence in academics, athletics and service to the community. The student must use the award at an accredited college or university. Financial need will be given priority. Donor selects. Apply by AMY PLUMP MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Senior attending a 4-year college. Student must show a love for literature and poetry by submitting a poem or short story. Donor selects. Apply by BCSD CIVIL SERVICE EMPLOYEE ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIPS Graduating seniors with a GPA of 75 or higher. Strong community service and school participation and demonstrates a commitment to learning and a desire to further their education. One parent must be a member of the BCSD CSEA. Student plans on attending a two or four-year college/trade/technical/business school. 200-word essay. Donor selects. Student must have attended (at least 2 years), and graduated from the BHES. BEDFORD HILLS FIRE DEPARTMENT SCHOLARSHIP Senior residing in the BH Fire District & continuing to a 2 or 4-year college/technical school. Strong community service with emphasis on emergency services. Apply by General and Special Application BEDFORD TEACHERS' ASSOCIATION Four scholarships for college bound seniors; (1) academic excellence w/gpa 93 or above, (2) citizenship & tenacity w/gpa 85 or above, (3) seeking a career in education, (4) overcoming unique challenges in life. Copy of primary college essay & additional essay questions required. Students may apply for up to two of the four scholarships. Apply by BEDFORD VILLAGE CHOWDER & MARCHING CLUB SCHOLARSHIPS Senior students exhibiting strong school citizenship and a history of active volunteerism in the community. Must be a resident of Bedford Village Postal area or Bedford Village Fire District. FLHS selects. Apply by General Application. BEDFORD VILLAGE CHOWDER & MARCHING CLUB VOCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP Senior student attending a 2-year college or vocational school. Financial need and community service are given strong consideration. BEDFORD VILLAGE LIONS CLUB SCHOLARSHIP Demonstrates school and community involvement. Bedford Village resident. Donor Selects Apply by BEDFORD VILLAGE LIONS CLUB Memorial Scholarship A hard-working senior residing in Bedford Village going on to higher education; satisfactory academic standing with an exemplary record of participation in community service and/or related work experience or extracurricular activities; excellent school citizenship and exhibited concern for others as recommended by peers; financial need given strong consideration. Donor Selects Apply by BEDFORD VILLAGE VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT SCHOLARSHIP Senior student residing in the Bedford Village fire district. Student must be continuing his/her education and must have participated in some form of community service within the last year. Essay and 1 letter of recommendation. Donor selects. Apply by BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB OF NORTHERN WESTCHESTER CUTRI MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Seniors accepted to accredited institutions for post high school study. Criteria: character, scholastic potential, participation in school and community affairs. Qualified participating members of the Boys' and Girls' Club of Mount Kisco are given special consideration. FAFSA form and 1 letter of recommendation. Donor selects. Apply by FLORENCE ELMAN HORNE SCHOLARSHIP A graduating senior who plans on attending a four-year college with an interest in the mental health field. Apply by Selection by FLHS. FOX LANE ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIPS One each to a senior boy and girl who best represent the ideals of FLHS based upon academic achievement, good citizenship, and active contribution to daily activities Apply by Selection by donor committee. GERBINO FAMILY FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS Up to four renewable 4-year need based scholarships for seniors; two (2) for students with a strong art/music background and two (2) for general academic achievement and citizenship. Criteria includes, but is not limited to: financial need, scholarship, community service, work experience, and other unique life experiences. Essays required. Donor selects. Criteria: high academic achievement shows community service and must submit evidence of thriftiness. Donor selects. Apply by KAREN AMUSO-CLIFFORD MEMORIAL ART SCHOLARSHIP To honor the memory of Karen Amuso-Clifford a 1975 graduate of Fox Lane High School. Awarded to a graduating senior interested in pursuing their education in the field of art and/or psychology. The applicant should submit a piece of artwork or a short essay (less than 250 words) outlining how they envision themselves utilizing their degree after graduating from college. Applicant should submit a letter of recommendation. Apply by MOUNT KISCO CHAMBER OF COMMERCE SCHOLARSHIP: College bound senior from Mount Kisco who plans on attending a 4-year institution who demonstrates commitment to academics and leadership through community involvement. Donor selects. Apply by MOUNT KISCO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP-GEORGE PAGLIARO MEMORIAL Seniors who have graduated from the Mount Kisco Elementary School attending an accredited college. FLHS selects. Apply by General Application. MOUNT KISCO LIONS CLUB SCHOLARSHIPS: Seniors residing in the Mount Kisco Village area. Criteria; academics, extra curricular activities and citizenship. Scholarship must be used within a 5-year period. Two-year recipients, who go on to 4-year colleges, will be eligible for the additional two years. Requires 1 letter of recommendation. Donor selects. Apply by MOUNT KISCO POLICE BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIPS Senior boy and girl furthering their education and residing in the town of Mount Kisco. Criteria: Character and scholarship are important considerations. FLHS selects. Apply by General Application.

MOUNT KISCO ROTARY CLUB MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS Seniors who will attend a four-year college. Criteria: financial need, scholarship, school citizenship and community service. Student must attach a complete copy of the SAR received after filing the FAFSA. Donor selects. Apply by General and Special Application NORTHERN WESTCHESTER LIONS CLUB NURSING SCHOLARSHIP Student pursuing nursing, GPA of 80 or above, good school attendance record, demonstrated community service, proven leadership and excellent interpersonal skills; financial need given strong consideration. POUND RIDGE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - MORRIS OTTMAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP A student from the Pound Ridge attendance area and have attended PRES who has maintained high academic achievement, community service and/or out of school work responsibility. Financial need. Donor selects. Apply by POUND RIDGE LIONS CLUB STUDENT COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD Residents of Pound Ridge, who epitomize the aim of Lionism; to serve fellow human beings. Special consideration is given to service in the Pound Ridge community and in the school district. Selection based solely on community service record, not need or academic based. Donor selects. Apply by POUND RIDGE LIONS VOLUNTEER AMBULANCE CORPS SCHOLARSHIP Any Fox Lane student who is currently involved in FD or EMS or Continuing in a Health/ Safety/ EMS related field. Donor selects. Apply by POUND RIDGE PARTNERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP Pound Ridge resident with strong community service through the partnership events. Donor selects. Apply by POUND RIDGE POLICE BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION A senior resident of the Town of Pound Ridge. Student must be planning to attend an accredited college or vocational school and must display a financial need. Preference is given to students planning to pursue a career in community service i.e.: Police, Fire, EMS, Mental or Social Health. Emphasis is placed on strong academic history and active service to the community. FLHS selects. Apply by POUND RIDGE WOMEN S REPUBLICAN CLUB Wilma C. Rogalin Leadership Scholarship A senior female with exceptional leadership abilities, academic excellence & commitment to public service. Must be a full time Pound Ridge resident. Donor selects. Apply by SONS OF THE AMERICAN LEGION, MOSES TAYLOR, JR POST #136 SCHOLARSHIP Male student who is a descendent of a legionnaire or veteran who has demonstrated excellence in academics, athletics & service to the community. Must be attending an accredited college or university. Apply by General and Special Application. TINGLEY SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP 3-4 scholarships. Financial need will not be a factor. The money must be applied to tuition at an accredited university or college. The scholarships reward students who have demonstrated certain values that establish them as "scholars," show a love of learning for its own sake. They have been "risktakers" who sought intellectual challenges, and found creative solutions. They have proven themselves active, engaged learners by their initiative, commitment, and consistency. These individuals may have achieved outstanding recognition in any of the disciplines, but have also applied the same intellectual curiosity to other areas of academic endeavor. Apply by TOWN OF NORTH CASTLE POLICE BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP The applicant must be a legal resident of the town of North Castle and planning to attend a college or vocational school. Von Eiff Memorial Senior must be a graduate of the WPES who exhibits scholarship, citizenship and community service. FLHS selects. Apply by General Application. WOMEN S CIVIC CLUB OF KATONAH ALTERNATIVE SCHOLARSHIP Resident of Bedford Central School District who is pursuing a vocational education; student pursuing a non-traditional education path such as musician, culinary arts, physician's asst., etc - 2 or 4 year.
