IEEE elearning Library Online tutorials to keep engineers current on emerging technologies and trends Tutorials range from 1 to 2.5 hours Tutorials in key technology areas Developed, peer-reviewed, and updated by leading experts in the field Participants earn IEEE certificates for Continuing Education Units/Professional Development Hours Includes extended series and offers introductory, intermediate, and advanced levels in many topics 6
Coming in 2014: New or Expanded Series Cloud Computing (30+ tutorial series) Electric Vehicles (10 hours focused on Electric Vehicle Batteries) Vehicular Technology (4 modules on drive trains, plus ongoing discussion with VTS for expansion of the series) 7
Metrics: More than 390 tutorials now available (500+ hours) Subscribers to the full library: 23 Corporate 19 Academic 1 Government A consortium of 82 academic institutions subscribe to a sub-set of the library 8
Overview: IEEE Certificates Program Exists to provide certificate administration for Continuing Education Units (CEUs), Professional Development Hours (PDHs), and Certificates of Participation in IEEE s fields of interest Business Model: Offered free to IEEE Organizational Units Offers value add and revenue generating options for IEEE meetings, conferences and events Offered with a fee structure to external Non-IEEE educational providers - $20 per person/per certificate Provide oversight via Certificates, Certifications, and Credit-Bearing Programs Committee Program generated 17,588 certificates (@16% paid) in 2013 (more than 3X 2012) 9
