Cleaning Policy Purpose The management and staff of Fitzroy Falls Aged Care Facility are committed to providing the highest quality and standards of cleaning services for our residents and clients. High standards of cleanliness are essential to maintain a safe and pleasant environment and to minimise the risk of infections Development This Fitzroy Falls Aged Care Facility Cleaning Manual has been developed with participation from staff members across all our sites and our chemicals supplier Structure This manual includes policy statements, step by step instructions and references to other related documents, legislation and standards. There is provision for cleaning schedules to be filed. Legal requirements Legislative requirements and Fitzroy Falls Aged Care Facility specific procedures have been incorporated where necessary. Responsibilities Managers and staff are required to undertake their duties in line with the enclosed policies and procedures. Continuous Improvement Managers and staff have a responsibility to communicate any suggestions for improvement to their manager or to the Quality Services Coordinator who will coordinate a review and make changes where needed. Continuous improvement strategies have been incorporated where appropriate. Review The Manual will be monitored and continuously improved through the oversight of the Quality Services Coordinator in liaison with Fitzroy Falls Aged Care Facility Care Working Groups. J.N. Policy Responsibilities are allocated and systems developed to ensure a clean, safe environment for residents, staff, suppliers and contractors. 2. Procedure The Manager or delegate is responsible for: The oversight of all cleaning services. This includes: Daily management. Completion of all audits as listed: o o Quarterly Audits. Annual Audit. Ensuring completion of actions arising from Quarterly and Annual Audits. Ensuring documentation of actions and outcomes arising from audits. Taking action regarding issues identified through staff or client comments and complaints. Development and implementation of cleaning schedules Development, implementation and regular review of general position descriptions and site specific duty statements. Provision of essential and additional training. Adequate allocation of resources to achieve required standards. Provision of a safe environment and appropriately maintained equipment. Adherence to approved list of chemicals Cleaning staff are responsible for: Undertaking essential training. Working in accordance with all relevant policies and procedures. Notifying their manager of any suggested improvements, problems or issues to ensure continuous improvement. Adherence to approved list of chemicals. Following Infection Control procedures where relevant (Refer to Fitzroy Falls Aged Care Facility Infection Control Manual). General Working in accordance with OHS requirements and maintaining a safe environment. No chemicals may be used that are not on the approved chemicals list. Chemicals can only be added to the list with the approval of the Infection Control Committee. Once a change is made, the Infection Control Committee notifies the Supply Manager who will update the approved chemicals list. 3. Attachments None 4.
