FY 2017 Continuing Resolution Currently operating on a Continuing Resolution (CR) through April 28, 2017. Continues at near FY 2016 Omnibus level. Typical CR rules, such as: new programs cannot be started, existing programs cannot be terminated, and we are to maintain operations, services and program activities at levels consistent with FY 2016; Final FY 2017 appropriation could potentially be at a lower funding level than FY 2016 U.S. Department of Commerce National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration NOAA Fisheries Page 9
FY 2017 Commissions Funding NMFS prioritized distributing funds to the Commissions as early as possible under the CR The release of funds in early January brought your FY17 funding levels to approximately 50% of the anticipated FY17 total. We will continue to fund the Commissions as early as possible as the fiscal environment unfolds during the year.
