Meeting Information Resident/Fellow Members Activities Clinical vignettes, quality improvement projects and research prepared by Resident/Fellow Members will be presented at the meeting. Resident winners are eligible for entrance into the national competition during Internal Medicine Meeting 2019 to be held in Philadelphia, PA. Original clinical vignettes, quality improvement, or research projects are eligible. Most of the work is expected to have been completed by the Resident/Fellow. Faculty mentors are strongly encouraged to assist with literature review, editing, and proofreading, but not rewriting the entire abstract. Clinical vignettes, quality improvement, and research that have been submitted or presented at local or other regional meetings (e.g., a state ACP Chapter meeting) remain eligible, provided that it did not win an award at the regional level (any local/hospital level award remains eligible). Clinical vignettes, performance improvement, and research that have been presented at a national meeting (National ACP or subspecialty meetings) are ineligible. Clinical vignettes, performance improvement, and research that have been published are ineligible, except for those published only in a hospital-level publication. Publication clearance is the responsibility of the submitter. For Residents: The first call for abstracts for the 2018 ACP U.S. Army/U.S. Air Force Conference went out to Program Directors and their affiliated staff in mid-april 2018. As in years past, there will be 3 categories in this competition: Research, Quality Improvement and Clinical Vignette. Also, consistent with last year s guidelines, we are asking that the program leadership at each institution collect abstract submissions for their respective residents and select the top abstract in each of these 3 categories. Please then submit these 3 abstracts to the following email address: Army.airforce.acp.abstracts@gmail.com. The remaining abstracts from your residents will then be eligible for submission for presentation at a subspecialty breakout session (more details regarding this process will come at a later date). PLEASE ensure that you designate to which category the abstract will be submitted. There will be a 450-word limit (not including title and authors). The final deadline for submission will be COB Tuesday, June 12, 2018. For specific questions/concerns, please contact Captain (Dr.) Kelly Chohonis at kelly.e.chohonis.mil@mail.mil or Major (Dr.) Andrew Skabelund at andrew.j.skabelund.mil@mail.mil. For Fellows and Early Career Physicians (ECP): The first call for abstracts also went out in mid-april 2018. As in years past, there will be 3 categories for each of these competitions: Research, Quality Improvement, and Clinical Vignette. PLEASE ensure that you designate to which category the abstract will be submitted. There will be a 450-word limit (not including title and authors).
