Payment of this fee ensures that all seniors will be able to pick up their graduation announcements, caps and gowns. GRADUATION ANNOUNCEMENTS: Each senior received 10 graduation announcements, whether or not they ordered additional items from Jostens. These announcements, plus any additional announcements or items ordered, were distributed to seniors on February 25. Those who were absent on the pick-up day should have picked up their announcements, per the morning PA announcements. Additional announcements (1 pack of ten = $20) are available in the Main Office. All cords and pins that students receive at the ceremony should be worn during graduation. However, students are not allowed to display non-bishop awards as part of their graduation attire. Information must be received by Friday, April 29 th and no later, in order to be included in both programs. May 27 - GRADUATION 11:30 a.m. LOCATION: BMHS Knight Stadium/Football Field *ADMITTANCE TO THE FOOTBALL FIELD FOR THE GRADUATION CEREMONY WILL BE BY TICKET ONLY. PLEASE SEE DETAILS BELOW. Each senior will receive a total of nine tickets for bleacher seats at the ceremony. A canopy tent will be available on the field to provide seating for guests with special needs. Please see page 1 of this letter for details on how to obtain tickets for this special seating. ALL guests attending Bishop Montgomery s graduation ceremony, REGARDLESS OF AGE, will be required to present a ticket at the gate for admission. Please note that the parking lot on the northeast corner of Torrance Blvd. and Henrietta and the business/medical office parking lots immediately east of the BMHS campus are NOT available for parking during the graduation ceremony on May 27. Cars that are parked there without authorization from the landowner will be ticketed and/or towed. Please arrive early and park your car in one of Bishop Montgomery s campus lots or on nearby streets. It is imperative that all seniors report to their designated practice rooms no later than 10:30 a.m. with their cap and gown. The ceremony will begin promptly at 11:30 a.m. At 11:25 a.m., students will begin to process to the field as practiced. 5

Dress code for graduation is the same as Student Dress-up Day (please reference the Parent/Student Handbook). Seniors may NOT make alterations to their caps and gowns, nor wear anything over or on the cap and gown, with the exception of school-issued honor cords, pins and/or medals. Students who choose not to comply with this policy will be prohibited from participating in the graduation ceremony. Tennis shoes are neither appropriate, nor acceptable, for the occasion. Please note that it can be very windy on the field during the ceremony. It is recommended that the graduates use bobby pins to ensure their caps remain in place. Also, because the ceremony will take place on the football field, and because the graduates will use stairs when crossing the stage to get their diplomas, graduates should choose appropriate shoes for the ceremony. For safety reasons, ladies are urged not to wear stiletto-style heels to the ceremony. The graduation ceremony will last approximately 1 ½ hours. Pictures and videos may be taken from the bleachers only; no one will be permitted on the field during the ceremony. We will have a professional video by Hemenway Productions and portraits by LifeTouch Portraiture which will be available to you for a fee. Please be aware that in the past various outside, unapproved organizations have used our graduation as an opportunity to sell their merchandise, including flower/balloon bouquets and Hawaiian flower leis. While we do not prohibit the purchase of these items for graduation events, we do not support nor condone their sales to our students or their families. Bishop Montgomery High School will not assume responsibility if these items are not delivered, or are delivered in a condition different than originally promised. Please do not bring balloons or air horns to the graduation ceremony, as balloons obstruct the view and blaring air horns and other noisemakers are disruptive to the ceremony. At the conclusion of the ceremony, seniors must report immediately back to their rooms to obtain their diplomas and pick up any belongings left behind. Seniors may keep their caps and gowns. Any diplomas or other items not picked up within 10 minutes after the ceremony ends will be taken to the front office and made available beginning Tuesday, May 31. *Within the next month, in religion classes, seniors will fill out information cards with their names, addresses and e-mails so that ceremony proofs taken by LifeTouch at the graduation ceremony can be sent to you. There is no obligation to purchase any portraits when proofs are received. 6

BMHS GRADUATION VIDEO Dear Students and Parents, Again we would like to congratulate the students for achieving a major milestone in their lives. We also understand that the economy is still less favorable this year and many still have to juggle finances to enable them to provide for their son/daughters education. We would like to thank the BMHS administration, and the parents, for allowing Hemenway Productions the opportunity for so many years to provide the memory that the students (and parents) have worked so hard to achieve. As a thank you for all your support, we are not re-adjusting the cost of the graduation videos this year so you can continue enjoying this special memory of their graduation ceremony. Hemenway Productions would like to take care of these details and capture the best of these special moments for you. Located here in the South Bay, Hemenway Productions has been providing Bishop Montgomery with our video services since the 1990 s.
