our world gives Our World, Our Family program Western Union s Our World, Our Family program is a $50 million, fiveyear commitment to create economic opportunity across the globe. Through this comprehensive corporate program launched in 2007, Western Union provides grants and volunteers, connects our consumers with new resources and speaks out on their behalf focusing on fostering economic opportunity. Our World, Our Family is framed around three areas: Our World Gives; Our World Connects and Our World Speaks. Our World Gives: From disaster relief and educational support to small business development and connecting migrant families with vital local resources, grants to NGOs help create economic opportunity for those most in need around the world. Western Union employees and business partners also participate by volunteering their time in the community and donating money through Foundation Giving Circle programs. Our World Connects: Through the Western Union business, we connect consumers and their families with the financial tools they need to get ahead in their new communities. We also work to engage all consumers around the economic opportunity cause through issue-focused and cause-related events and activities, including advertising, sponsorships, special events, promotions, marketing and community relations. our world connects Our World Speaks: We speak out for Western Union consumers and the needs of disadvantaged communities, advocating a global economy and a global environment that offers equal opportunity for all. Our goal is to help families stay connected, overcome barriers and realize their dreams. our world speaks

Our Impact Since its inception in 2001, the Foundation has granted more than $71.7 million, providing funding to more than 2,010 NGOs in 104 countries around the globe, supporting more than 93 disaster relief operations and providing scholarships totaling more than $1 million to over 600 students worldwide. Money raised through the Western Union Employee Giving Circle program supports the work of the Foundation. Employee donations are matched by Western Union 2:1 in the U.S. and 3:1 for employees outside the U.S. In 2010, nearly 1,800 employees in 46 countries participated in the program. Western Union Agents play a large role in helping the Foundation raise funds for charitable programs. Since 2001, more than 459 Agents have donated funds to help NGOs within their own communities. Matched 1:1 by the Foundation, the total amount donated is over $31.1 million. In 2009, Western Union earned the Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy (CECP) Large Company Excellence Award for pioneering the Our World, Our Family program, seen as one of the most effective programs to incorporate business development while elevating awareness of the complicated social issue of migration. In 2007, Western Union, through the donor to the United Nations Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF). In February 2011, the Foundation announced a total of $1.1 million in grants for three United Nations (UN) agencies, including a matching grant for corporate donations to CERF, a grant to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF to support children in Haiti, and a grant to the U.N Development Programme to assist Filipino and Moroccan migrants. Working with the United States Agency for International Development, Western Union and the Western Union Foundation launched the African Diaspora Marketplace, a competition designed to support the entrepreneurial spirit and resources of the U.S.-based African Diaspora community to promote sustainable economic development in Sub-Saharan Africa. Fourteen businesses in seven African countries were awarded grants of up to $100,000 each.

Our Giving From supporting causes from natural disaster relief to fostering educational opportunities for disadvantaged children and adults, we are there when and where people need us, all across the globe. NGO grants: Through the donations Western Union, its employees and Agents, the Western Union Foundation provides direct grants to NGOs that address economic opportunity through education, job training, life skills and educational assistance to migrants, immigrants and their families. In addition, when a natural disaster strikes, the Foundation and the Western Union Company provide funding to help with immediate relief and future rebuilding efforts. Many of these grants are made possible through the generous donations of our Western Union employees and Agents. In many cases, donations are matched by the Foundation, helping to leverage the gift even further. Employees and Agents also give back locally by volunteering their time to help others in their communities. Agent Giving Circles: In more than 200 countries and territories around the local businesses. These Agents are the face and voice of Western Union in the communities we serve and are well-placed to appreciate the needs of local consumers. Agent Giving Circles are powerful tools that enable Western Union Agents to support their local communities. Together we identify local programs that meet our giving criteria, and then match Agent donations dollar-for-dollar, doubling their impact in the community. Family Scholarships: We believe that education is a pathway to opportunity for many people around the world. The Foundation, through our Family Scholarship Program, provides scholarships to help two members of the same family move up the economic development ladder through education. Scholarships may be used for tuition for college/university education language we are there when people need us.

Our Priorities Who we fund: Under the Our World, Our Family umbrella, the Foundation prioritizes proposals from well-respected organizations with measurable plans to advance education and economic development. The Foundation solicits proposals from: - NGOs whose primary mission is to serve migrant and immigrant populations; - NGOs operating in the developing world that alleviate poverty and provide economic development programs. What we fund: The Western Union Foundation solicits proposals that facilitate economic opportunity through education and economic development programs such as job training, life skills development, small business development, computer education and financial literacy. In addition, proposals are solicited from NGOs that help migrants and immigrants integrate into their new communities by providing language acquisition and civic engagement programs, as well as assisting them with the transition into their new communities. Where we fund: Priority is given to projects operating within the following countries and U.S. cities.
