We have had a great year as we have embraced Mary Stahl s theme of TOGETHER, STRONGER, BOLDER. We started our year with Critical Care Bowl at IU West. As you remember, eight teams competed and IU Health-Methodist Cardiac Medical Critical Care Unit team HEART HELPERS won bragging rights. In collaboration with industry partners, our monthly meetings provided educational opportunities as we pay it forward with donations to the Wheeler s Women/Children s Shelter. A health fair was organized for the Shelter in April. Funds from our annual ornament auction for the Ronald McDonald House were matched by the chapter. In October, our Healthy Work Environment Summit in collaboration with Sigma Theta Tau highlighted how working together we can be stronger and bolder for our patients. In March, your Board represented you at the annual Student Nurses Association Conference. In April, the Spring Conference, conference embodied the theme as speakers provided valuable education. Industry partners once again provided generous support for the event. In May, several of you attended NTI. Jennifer Heisick attended this year as our NTI scholarship winner. Jenni won by sharing how her practice embodied the president s theme. One of the highlights each year at NTI is when the new theme for national AACN is announced at the Wednesday Supersession. So, for the coming year our new AACN president, Kathryn E. Roberts, challenges us to : DARE TO.. I CHALLENGE you to DARE TO.take the next step in your career in the coming year. For some, it may be certification, for others it may be getting that next degree, for others it might be helping your unit achieve Beacon status. How about submitting a narrative to attend NTI in Boston next year, attending more local AACN meetings or getting a team together for Critical Care Bowl..What will you DARE TO DO this year?????????
