14th Annual Nursing Research CONFERENCE 2018 Overview About the Conference Nursing research and dissemination is a critical requirement of evidence-based nursing practice. There is a need to enhance nurses ability to plan, conduct and disseminate research. It is equally important for clinical nurses to network and share their research with academic and clinical researchers. Poster and oral research presentations and 12 break-out sessions will provide basic and advanced content on research design themes Who Should Attend? The Nursing Research Conference is intended for all nurses, no matter their work roles or job titles. Conference Outcomes At the end of this conference the nurse will: Identify the role of the clinical nurse in advancing the science of nursing Discuss strategies to enhance the quality and rigor of scientific inquiry Explore research design options (basic and advanced levels) Explain strategies to strengthen study designs Discuss methods for disseminating findings, including tips for writing for publication Share findings from recent studies that have the potential to guide nursing practice and improve patient outcomes
14th Annual Nursing Research CONFERENCE 2018 Keynote Speaker Day One Gordon Gillespie, PhD, DNP, RN, FAEN, FAAN Gordon Gillespie, PhD, DNP, RN, FAEN, FAAN, is an Associate Professor in the College of Nursing at the University of Cincinnati. His research addresses traumatic stress related to workplace aggression and providing care to traumatically injured patients. Dr. Gillepsie has served as chair for a national conference on workplace violence and as an editorial board member of the Advanced Emergency Nursing Journal. Keynote Speaker Day Two Denice Sheehan, PhD, RN, FPCN Denice Sheehan, PhD, RN, FPCN, is an Associate Professor of Nursing at Kent State University. She also holds a joint position as the Director of Clinical Research at Hospice of the Western Reserve. Her research addresses the needs of the adolescent whose parent is terminally ill.
