National Engineers Week Scholarship and Awards Banquet - Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties Supported by all the major engineering societies with active sections in Santa Barbara and/or Ventura County Awarded 6 Scholarships of $1000 each to selected engineering and eng-prep students from eight local 2-Yr CCs and 4-Yr Colleges Individual societies recognize and Engineer and Project of the Year. None from ASME-CI this year. ASME-CI reserves one table for 10 ($650). We subsidized attendees - $50 paid by members, $15 subsidized by ASME. 5 attendees other than Board Members and their guests. ASME-CI contributes $750 to scholarship fund

Finances Current balance of $4.958 We get no formal funding from ASME Corporate Member designated section donation during reregistration Limited Merit Based Funding from Corporate. Kind of like an annual review for Sections. But this is becoming a shrinking pool.

It uses social media to link people, sections and other communities to promote cross participation and knowledge sharing If you already have a LinkedIn account, you can download your LINKEDIN profile into your ASME Personal profile After creating a Personal profile, connect your profile the Channel Islands Section
