Available Scholarships Alyssa Little Foundation Scholarship One Eligible Senior from JJ Pearce High School The Alyssa Little Memorial Scholarship was created in memory of Alyssa Ann Little, who tragically passed away in April 2011. Alyssa graduated from J.J. Pearce High School in 2006 and was known for her quick wit, humor and outgoing personality. In honor of Alyssa, this scholarship will be awarded to one J.J. Pearce High School senior who will be attending a 4-year accredited state college or university. The recipient must graduate with a minimum 3.0 GPA and attend a full time 4-year university or college of his/her choice. The award will be based on a combination of financial need, academic performance, and personal character, and adheres to the guidelines for the scholarship application. Essay must be 2 pages in length and describes your character, integrity, goals in life and why we should choose you for this scholarship. This scholarship is non-renewable and the chosen student must attend the RISD Excellence in Education Foundation Scholarship Breakfast Celebration in order to receive their award. $2,500.00 non-renewable A.M. Anderson Scholarship Lake Highlands High School Seniors This memorial scholarship was established to honor Mr. A.M. Anderson, the first principal of Lake Highlands High School. Berkner High School The purpose of this Balfour-Cheek Family Principal s Scholarship is to honor a graduating senior of L.V. Berkner High School whose goal is to Attend a 2-year or 4-year accredited college or university of his/her choice or a vocational school. Recognizing the value of athletic activities in promoting academic success, the recipient must have participated in a minimum of two (2) extra-curricular activities with one being an athletic activity of his/her choice for a duration of one year. Pearce High School Seniors and The Giana Foundation Scholarship Fund for the Visual & Performing Arts Richardson High School Seniors A scholarship fund established to honor graduating seniors whose stated goal is to study visual and/or performing arts. The scholarship is intended to show appreciation of the J.J. Pearce and Richardson arts programs since members of the Foundation themselves benefited from participation in those programs. Two (2) scholarships awarded to each of two (2) J.J. Pearce graduating seniors and two (2) Richardson High School Seniors who are planning to major in the visual and/or performing arts. She was a creative, sweet and wonderful daughter, sister and friend. In honor of Katie, this scholarship will be awarded to 2 deserving J.J. Pearce High School Seniors each year with a minimum GPA of 90. Student must attend full-time a 4-year undergraduate university or college. The award is based on character, academic performance and financial need. Selected students must attend JJ Pearce High School Award Ceremony to accept the award. $1,500.00 non-renewable for (2) students The Kathy Tran Scholarship Fund for the Creative Arts Qualifying Senior from any of the 4 RISD high schools Three $1,000 scholarships are provided by Kathy Tran, a graduate of RISD, to encourage seniors to further their studies in the creative arts.
