IT ALIAN AIR FORCE ACADEMY POZZUOLI - NAPLES Dear Commandant, The ltalian Air Force Academy will organize from the Bth to the 12 1 h October 2018 an educational module entitled "Leadership and Agllity in Complex Environments". The aim will be to promote the understanding, implementing and future self-development of leadership capabillties through conceptual and practical activities. Qualified military officers, university professors and talented speakers will use a holistic approach to guarantee participants a sound grasp of an effective "transformational" Leadership, and cognitive primers to development and self-development of leadership skills. Teamwork and group discussions will be fostered in arder to enhance a Leadershiporiented mindset and ethical behaviors. The learning-by-doing method will play an important raie in ali educational activities. Moreover, concept generation through exchange of ideas, relations, transactions, networking, and cultural cross-pollination will be systematically promoted to provide a deeper and richer leaming experience. We are convinced that, with the active contribution of ali the participants, we will be able to set up a suitable leaming environment, building deeper awareness of fundamental concepts, improved skills, and the competences essential for the future development of tomorrow's leaders. Goals of the Module The goal is to enhance a common understanding by young officers of the essential functions and workings of Self and Team Leadership, with special reference to the military. This module is also intended to foster self-development in young officers in the area of self and team leadership. Has a basic knowledge on Self and Team leadership; Developing professional communication abilities, both orally and in writing, including negotiation and mediation techniques, and the necessary terminologies allowing him/her to express opinion, arguments, orders and feedbacks in an appropriate manner. Carries out tasks in accordance with specified objectives, being integrated in a work group and allocates specific tasks to subordinate levels using communication and dialog, cooperation, positive thinking and mutual respect and using feed-back to improve personal activity; Develops interpersonal communication skills and cultural open mindedness within a group in situations of work or in an external environment (transmitting opinions, orders, feedbacks, etc.); Demonstrates ability to optimise human potential like steadiness, determination, work anticipation, organisation, sense of liability and integrates gender-awareness in his/her decisions; Assumes responsibilities of the leader, based on modern means of Leadership; Is capable of effectively communicating and interacting in an international environment. ITALIAN AIR FORCE ACADEMY POZZUOLI NAPLES LEADERSHIP AND AGILITY IN COMPLEX ENVIRONMENTS European Administrative information 8-12 October 2018 Participants Participants are: - cadets/young officers with at least 2 years of national military education and good knowledge about their service and current military operations in their country; - national civilian University Students. The Module will be provided in English language (required CEFR Level B2 or NATO STANAG Level 2). Registration Process Registration is open on a first-come-first-served basis to the first 30 students as of 15 July till 30 August 2018, please use the attached application form and send it to Module POC. Transportation Participants will be responsible to send all travel details no later than 1 October 2018. Italian Air Force Academy will provide ground transportation from CAPODICHINO Airport or Naples Train Station on Sunday 7 October 2018 and again Saturday 13 October 2017 (Friday 12 October, in the afternoon, on request). Participants planning to drive to the Italian Air Force Academy must provide estimated time of arrival. Costs Roundtrip travel costs should be paid by the parent military organization/the sending Institute for each delegation. No course fee is required. The host Academy will provide all lodging, meals, entertainment and transportation. Additional Information Service uniform/civilian informal dress will be used in the classroom and for indoor activities. Battle dress (camouflage only for military participants), gym suit and swimsuit will be needed for outdoor activities.
