CIDC Activities Celebration of Independence Day at Gorakhpur Center Independence Day celebration was organized at CIDC, Gorakhpur training center in a grand manner. The National Flag was hoisted by Sh. P K Mishra, Dy. Director and national anthem was sung by all CIDC staff and trainees with full zeal. In day time, sports meet was organized. Prof Govind Pandey, M M Engineering College, Gorakhpur was the chief guest. He delivered a very inspiring and patriotic speech. Prizes were distributed by the chief guest. RECL officers visited Dumariyaganj training center RECL officers Sh G S Yadav and Sh Raj Dev visited CIDC training center, Dumariyaganj on 8 th Aug 2013. They interacted with trainees and reviewed their training. They expressed their happiness and blessed the trainees for a better future. Prabhat Pheri and Shramdan Programs Gorakhpur center has started weekly programs to organize Prabhat Pheri and Shramdan with devotion to do something for the benefit of society. On 31 st August, more than 100 trainees with CIDC staff started prabhat pheri at 6.00 am. They march past with social awakening and patriotic slogans and reached labor chauraha. The team motivated the labourers to keep their areas neat and clean and maintain standards of hygiene. After seeing the cleaning works of CIDC team, laborers also involved themselves in the activities and made commitment to keep the nearby area clean and healthy. DG visit at Ansal API-VNC sites, Lucknow and opening of CIDC training center Dr P R Swarup, DG, CIDC visited Vijay Nirman Company sites at Ansal API projects, Lucknow. Col S Rao warmly welcomed DG. In meeting with officers and site staff of VNC, DG chalked up different programs to improve quality of works, better productivity, HR management and skill gradation. DG called an open meeting of workers and discussed different issues related to their working and betterment. The workers shared their critical issues. DG offered different opportunities available in CIDC and some special supports for their career enhancement. A CIDC-VNC training center dedicated to VNC staff and workers is also opened at the site by DG. This training center is meant for skill gradation and training for VNC staff and workers. P a g e 2

CIDC Activities Enlistment of Manufactures / Contractors:- Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC) is initiating the enlistment process of Manufactures and Contractors engaged in construction / works related to supply river bridges, highway bridges and structures, ballastless tracks for railways, sports stadia, industrial buildings, residential & commercial complexes, integration projects for power generation & distribution systems, air conditioning systems, finishing / interior works of residential and commercial complexes, piling and construction of diaphragm walls for Vijay Nirman Company Private Limited (VNC). CIDC Activities Industrial Internship Programs: A number of technical institutions showed interest in the CIDC s internship programs. Such programs are being conducted to provide hands-on engineering experience and to enhance capabilities of the engineering students. Students from Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, (U.P.), Mewar University, Chittorgarh (Rajasthan) and Assam University, Silchar joined internship programs recently. Twenty nine students pursuing Diploma in Civil Engineering from Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, (U.P.), being trained in our industrial internship programs, were placed for On-Job Training in Vijay Nirman Pvt Ltd and Universal Pvt Ltd. Fresh requirement of 40 interns for On-Job Training have been received from Vijay Nirman PVT LTD. Ten CIDC interns pursuing BTech in Civil Engineering from Mewar University, Chittorgarh (Rajasthan), have been short-listed for the On-Job Training in Simplex Infrastructures Ltd. Ph.D, Integrated M.Tech-Ph.D, and M.Tech Programs: Entrance Test for admission to the Ph.D, Integrated M.Tech-Ph.D, and M.Tech Programs was held on 25 th of August 2013. Programs are being conducted jointly with Mewar University, Chittorgarh (Rajasthan) and in association with IndSTT.
