On October 14th at the Rocky Mountain Emmys, Westwood High School Video Production won an award for the "Undercover Boss" episode of WNN. The Rocky Mountain Southwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences presented students with the 2017 High School Student Production Award For Excellence Newscast for their "WNN 11-18 Undercover Boss." Westwood was the winner and only recipient of this award in our region which includes Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, and part of California. Students recognized were Jacob Willeford, Johne Llamanzares, Nikolai Reyes, Jacob Martinez Sanchez, Nicholas Sisco, Luis Barbosa, Aileyn Ibarra, Alicia Gibson, Joshua Chausse, Richie Cornejo, and Rogelio Gonzales. WNN would like to thank the Academy for this prestigious award as well as all of the students who contributed to the show, the Mesa Public School District, the CTE Department, and all of the Westwood administrators, staff, and students for their daily support.

PSAT Information and Bell Schedule Wednesday, October 25, 2017 On Wednesday, October 25th Westwood High School will be administering the PSAT exam to 10th and 11th grade students who have signed up for testing. Test procedures: Be at your testing room at 7:45am to check in Students must have student/picture ID before they can begin their test * Bring at least two #2 pencils with erasers * Electronic devices such as cell phones, laptops or tablets must be turned off and put away during the entire testing time (even during breaks) *Bring a calculator, scientific or graphing is recommended - students may not share calculators **Unacceptable calculators include models that can access the internet, have wireless, Bluetooth, cellular, audio/ video recording and playing, camera or any other Smartphone/IPhone/Android features Bus/Transportation Information Buses will run at normal time for those students taking the PSAT test. A second bus run will occur 4 1/2 hours later than the normal pick up time. For example if a student who is not testing gets picked up at 6:15 am, they will be picked up at 10:45 am. All after school buses will run on normal schedule. PSAT TESTING: 8:00-11:40 am (Testing doors close at 8am Late students will not be permitted to test) LUNCH: 11:40 am - 12:36 pm 1st hour: 12:42-1:00 pm 2nd hour: 1:06-1:24 pm 3rd hour: 1:30-1:48 pm 4th hour: 1:54-2:12 pm 5th hour: 2:18-2:36 pm 6th hour: 2:42-3:00 pm

The library is open every Tuesday and Thursday after school until 4:30pm So if you need a place to study or work on projects This is the place to be! Native American SHIELD tutoring before school, during both lunches and after school in Room 303 The Interpreters Club offers tutoring on Mondays and Wednesdays after school in portable 61. They will also have cap, gown and tassels available to purchase. May 15, 2018: NINE days until graduation: Seniors to attend a mandatory graduation orientation meeting in the Auditorium 2nd hour. Jostens will be in the auditorium lobby after the assembly to deliver any remaining cap, gown and tassels ordered or to be purchased. Jostens will not return to deliver after 11am today.
