Undertakes clinical duties in the care of patients as per contract of employment Keeps up to date with healthcare trends and medical research. Maintains updated knowledge and skill of medical practices and trends in health management. Outpatients and other clinics Ward rounds and ward work Operating lists Reading and responding to patient referral letters Attendance at multi disciplinary meetings, case conferences and reviews as required Research and study related to the treatment of a specific patient Provision of medical reports to police, ACC, coroner etc Review current processes and practice to develop creative solutions to meet the future needs of the organisation and the population it serves. Provides direct clinical supervision to junior medical staff working in Women s Health To establish a strong collegial relationship with other services within the Auckland region and outside the region. Networks for support are sought and communication channels are established between Waitemata DHB and external organisations. Identifies areas for overall improvement for the service. Works with the Clinical Directors for Obstetrics and Gynaecology and the Operations Manager in the development of quality initiatives for the service ensuring a quality improvement programme is implemented. Actively promotes and implements change as required to achieve overall organisational goals Demonstrates a flexibility and willingness to adapt to new requirements of the organisation. Supports change and quality improvement, gaining buy-in and support from staff at all levels through effective planning and full communication of the process.
