Introduction Competition Goals The Safety in Heat Program Competition has been created to recognize and reward entities that comply with the requirements of Abu Dhabi Occupational Safety and Health System Framework (OSHAD SF) and the midday break law and also provide and maintain world-class working conditions for their workforce during the difficult summer months. The Safety in Heat Program was first launched by OSHAD in 2014 to raise awareness on the requirements that must be met by employers in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in order to protect workers from the summer heat. In 2016, the Safety in Heat Competition was launched by OSHAD to celebrate excellence in implementing the program, requirements and standards. The award not only recognizes employers but also workers and their contribution to relevant programs. The winners of the competition will be invited to attend a closing award ceremony to receive certificates and awards. OSHAD will communicate with entities eligible to apply for the Competition and will provide full details on the requirements and application process. Raise awareness on OSHAD SF requirements and standards and shed light on OSHAD-SF CoP 11.0 Safety in Heat. Encourage all entities to participate in the competition and demonstrate their active contribution to the Safety in Heat Program by providing detailed examples on how they implemented the program. Encourage workers to contribute to the program s implementation efforts as this is rewarded as part of the competition, with awards presented to those who actively participated in the campaign. Reward those who identify new innovations that can help reduce the hazards and risks associated with working in the heat. To recognize and reward excellence in implementing the Safety in Heat Program, celebrate initiatives and innovations by the workforce and promote the Emirate of Abu Dhabi position as home to safe and healthy workplaces. 04 Safety in Heat Competition 2017 Safety in Heat Competition 2017 05
