Auxiliary News Happy New Year! My greatest wish for each of you is to have a healthy and prosperous New Year. I hope our Unit will grow with new members and lots of activity in 2017. Our December 3rd meeting was well attended: Joyce Riggs, Marge Carter, Jean Testruth, Patsy Horton, Betty Mathias, Mary Hazelton, Doris Frye, Linda Roemer, Brenda Podewil, Evelyn Moss, visitor Lara Haacks (Roemer s German exchange student) and myself. Nila Ballentine was granted an excused absence for being ill and PDP Dot Tunstall was attending a Department meeting. Following our meeting, we enjoyed a wonderful dinner, and I want to thank each of you for bringing a dish. We had a good time and played a swapping gift exchange game. It was lots of fun. The Unit wishes to extend its deepest sympathy to Legionnaire Johnny Trout on the death of his wife, Felicia. As a reminder, your dues are due to the Unit by December 31st, please continue sending them to our Finance Officer. Linda Roemer, 183 Emanuel Creek Drive, West Columbia, SC 29170. When received and processed, Membership Chair, Jean Testruth will mail you your signed renewal card. Our January 7, 2017 meeting was cancelled due to weather. Our February 4, 2017 meeting will be held at the Post at 11:00 am. Lunch will be served and it will be soup and sandwiches. I will provide the vegetable soup and I ask that you bring a variety of sandwiches or a dessert. Contact me at 520-6206 and let me know which you plan to provide. Jean Testruth will furnish saltines and the beverages. We will continue to meet on the first Saturday at 11:00 am as most of our ladies do not or cannot drive at night. Look forward to seeing you in the New Year. For God and Country, Barbara Leaphart, President ALA Lexington Unit 7 For God and Country, Barbara Leaphart President
