Employee Health provides wellness programs, preventive care and injury and illness management. REPORTING A WORK RELATED INJURY/ILLNESS Report the incident to your manager/supervisor as soon as possible. Complete the online IRIS report as soon as possible. Contact Employee Health if you need medical care. For evenings and weekends, report the incident to the Charge Nurse or House Manager at your facility.

CARE FOR WORK-RELATED INURY/ILLNESS Employee Health will assess and if needed, assist you in setting up an appointment for care unless the injury is emergent. If Employee Health, your manager, or the House Manager determines that you need emergency care, ask the manager to contact the Emergency Department and proceed to the emergency room for treatment. Report outcomes to the manager that sent you as well as Employee Health.
Blood Borne Pathogen Exposure This is an emergency... what you are doing and notify employee health and your manager/supervisor immediately. If after office hours, contact the house manager. Clean the exposed or injured area immediately. Complete an online IRIS report. You may need your blood drawn for baseline testing and blood may need to be drawn on the source patient. You may need prophylactic medication. Needle sticks/sharps injuries/splashes are serious. Follow established procedures and report promptly.
Workers Compensation Complete the online IRIS report. Inform your manager and Employee Health. (House Manager for off hours/week-ends/holidays). If you need medical care, Employee Health will assist by providing information on providers who participate in our managed care program. Inform your manager/supervisor and Employee Health before and immediately after seeking treatment. If your physician has given you job restrictions, a modified duty program is available to accommodate your restrictions. Restrictions must be followed precisely and at all times at work and at home. The Nurse Practitioner may be available to treat minor work related injuries/illnesses. We encourage reporting all incidents and do not retaliate against anyone who reports an injury/illness.
Employee Safety Safe Patient Handling and Movement (SPHM) is a program to promote safe lifting and transfers to protect both the patient and YOU! Safe handling may require the use of bariatric wheel chairs, gait belts, slide sheets/boards, hover mats and jacks, mechanical or ceiling mounted lifts, certain specialty beds and co-workers! Ask your Mobility Coach/SPHM Leader or Manager for details about equipment in your area Stretch and exercise regularly, even if your work area is a desk. Use proper body mechanics when lifting, pushing, pulling, and twisting. Use the right equipment for the job. Think ahead and get help if needed. Report any unsafe conditions such as water on the floor, equipment/structures in need of repair or unsafe practices Know the chemicals used in your area. Ask your manager about the SDS location.
Employee Safety: PPE Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) includes gloves, gowns, goggles, face shields, lab coats, etc. PPE is provided for your use and should be worn when any exposure is ANTICIPATED Must be worn as indicated by the risk, the task, and the policy. Must be removed and disposed of or stored properly Ask your manager where PPE is stored in your area
Employee Health and Wellness Acute Care Clinic Services (included but are not limited to): -Smoking cessation, blood pressure checks, health and wellness consults -Viral infections, cough, Ear/ Eye Infections, Fever, Sore throat -Seasonal allergies/allergic Rhinitis/ Sinus infections, -Insect bites, Rash/ Skin Infections -Urinary Tract Infections, Nausea/ Vomiting/ Diarrhea -Minor aches and pains (nonworking related) Walk-ins welcome; recommend calling 859-313-4515 prior to your visit.
Managing Personal Injury/Illness (non work-related) Transitional duty A benefit program for return to work options following an illness/injury that is not work related. Your manager would refer you to this program.
