CARE FOR WORK-RELATED INURY/ILLNESS Employee Health will assess and if needed, assist you in setting up an appointment for care unless the injury is emergent. If Employee Health, your manager, or the House Manager determines that you need emergency care, ask the manager to contact the Emergency Department and proceed to the emergency room for treatment. Report outcomes to the manager that sent you as well as Employee Health.

Blood Borne Pathogen Exposure This is an emergency... what you are doing and notify employee health and your manager/supervisor immediately. If after office hours, contact the house manager. Clean the exposed or injured area immediately. Complete an online IRIS report. You may need your blood drawn for baseline testing and blood may need to be drawn on the source patient. You may need prophylactic medication. Needle sticks/sharps injuries/splashes are serious. Follow established procedures and report promptly.

Workers Compensation Complete the online IRIS report. Inform your manager and Employee Health. (House Manager for off hours/week-ends/holidays). If you need medical care, Employee Health will assist by providing information on providers who participate in our managed care program. If your physician has given you job restrictions, a modified duty program is available to accommodate your restrictions. Restrictions must be followed precisely and at all times at work and at home. The Nurse Practitioner may be available to treat minor work related injuries/illnesses. We encourage reporting all incidents and do not retaliate against anyone who reports an injury/illness.
