Student Leadership Conference IEEE Region 4 2017 Sponsorship Packet Dear Industry Colleague, Wayne State University welcomes you to take part in the annual Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Region 4 Student Leadership Conference (SLC). The Wayne State Student Branch of IEEE has the pleasure of hosting the 2017 SLC and with your support, we can make the IEEE SLC a continued success! What is the SLC? The SLC is the largest IEEE student event in the Midwest. Students come to the SLC to engage in leadership activities to develop the professionalism that will set them apart from other engineers in the workforce. Their skills are then put to the test by participating in prize oriented competitions involving topics like programming, circuit design, and robotics. In between these events is a steady line-up of keynote speakers who share their industry experiences and motivate the students to be great future leaders. Where is it? This year s SLC is being held at the Troy Community Center in Troy, Michigan from Thursday, March 16 th to Saturday, March 18 th, 2017. Why Sponsor the SLC? IEEE is the world s largest professional organization, and we are actively engaged in promoting Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) careers at all educational levels, from K-12 to the university. The SLC is a perfect example of this effort, challenging college students to professionally solve complex engineering problems. Previous sponsors have included: Alliant Energy, Garmin, John Deere, Micron, Tradebot, and XE Nuclear just to name a few. As a potential sponsor, this is an amazing opportunity to provide exposure to your company and meet some of the brightest students in the area. The Region 4 SLC provides a limited number of seats for each university. This limitation causes the best engineering students from each university to be present at our event. We hope that you will consider joining us in support of the 2017 SLC helping us to make this the most exciting and rewarding event to date. Sincerely, The 2017 SLC Planning Committee Page 1
