Fostering partnerships between government agencies and officials, both state and federal, and MTBMA members. Representing its members to help Maryland build, upgrade and maintain a world-class transportation system. Providing members with relevant and timely information effecting the industry. Fostering goodwill within the industry and between the industry and the general public about the industry s significance to the economy. Promoting quality and safety in the design and construction of transportation system facilities. Producing and delivering services and activities to benefit the industry. Working to resolve state and local environmental and local planning and zoning process affecting the industry. Promotes proactive community relations and developing programs for the members to use to create a positive image of the industry. Conducting operations and safety seminars in cooperation with MSHA. Providing an awards program for site beautification programs. Promoting models for good neighbor programs. Developing models for educating and training the 21st century industry workforce. WHAT WE DO We serve as a forum for continuous improvement in our industry. Education & Training MOT Traffic Manager Training - jointly with SHA, MTBMA administers the MD approved Temporary Traffic Control Traffic Manager Training course required for projects in MD. Erosion & Sediment Control - jointly with SHA, provides training necessary for designation as the Erosion and Sedimentation Control Manager on SHA projects. Membership Directory & Transportation Construction Industry Guide Annually published, this directory includes all MTBMA member companies, grouped by membership type. Listing includes primary contact, address, telephone, fax, email and brief description of services. Advertising is available in this publication. Federal and state government agencies, related to the industry are also included in this valuable directory. Available to members only. Publications & Communications www.mtbma.org Keeps members informed on industry news, events and training classes. Links to industry resources. Advertising available to MTBMA members. MTBMA Newsletter Distributed by email. containing construction industry news of the week, schedule of meetings and events. Infrastructure MD (The Journal for the Maryland Transportation Construction Industries) is a magazine published twice a year by MTBMA and other transportation construction industry associations. It is a platform to reach out to the industry as a whole and to the government officials and legislators who are charged with funding and providing transportation infrastructure.

WHAT WE DO We serve as a forum for continuous improvement in our industry. Conferences MDQI Maryland Quality Initiative Conference. Jointly with State Highway Administration and other construction industry associations and government agencies. The conference covers issues and technical subjects of interest to contractors, consultants and other agencies. MD Construction and Materials Conference The annual conference is held jointly with Maryland Ready Mix Concrete Association. The agenda may include Technical, Educational and Political sessions as related to their industries, as well as social and networking opportunities. Meetings and Events MTBMA promotes continuous improvement by organizing informative meetings, networking and social events to increase industry contacts. MTBMA CONTRACTOR MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION Date THE UNDERSIGNED HEREBY makes application for the Contractor Membership in the Maryland Transportation Builders and Materials Association, Inc. THE UNDERSIGNED AGREES to be governed by the By-Laws and to advance the objectives and interests of the Association. IT IS UNDERSTOOD AND AGREED that the first year s dues in the amount of $950.00 are to be paid in advance, and thereafter in accordance with the Schedule of Dues as approved by the Board of Directors. I understand that Membership in the Maryland Transportation Builders and Materials Association, Inc. remains in effect year-to-year and we are obligated to pay dues unless we cancel in writing. Dues payments to MTBMA are not tax deductible as charitable contributions. Under the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1993, 77% of MTBMA dues payments are deductible as ordinary and necessary business expenses.
