College of Agriculture Rachel Abeh Hey everyone, I m Rachel Abeh, I m the incumbent Senator in College of Agriculture. I m a junior this year, from Livingston, Montana, majoring in Agriculture Education-Relations with a minor in Rangeland Ecology. I m currently involved in several activities in the College of Ag including: Colligate Young Farmers & Ranchers, Range Club, Colligate Stockgrowers, Ag StCo, and MSU Livestock Judging Team. I have enjoyed representing our college this year; I hope to further advocate for the College of Agriculture and its constituency! College of Arts & Architecture My name is Cara Thuringer, I am running for the Arts and Architecture seat of ASMSU Senate. I am double majoring in Photography and Land Rehabilitation. NECO and EWB are two on campus activities I am involved in. If elected, this will be my second year in Senate. This year I want to work on improving on campus security for students and creating more opportunities for students to further engage in life at MSU outside of the classroom. Cara Thuringer Eric Oak Coming from Tacoma, WA, Eric Robert Oak is now enjoying his fourth year of studies in the College of Arts and Architecture. MSU is an awesome school, he says, almost as good as the outdoors that surround it. A film major, Eric is also responsible for helping publish the MSU Pocket Guide. This job has made him incredibly aware of the MSU community and all Bozeman has to offer. Eric is also able to make minute rice in fifty-two seconds.

At-Large I m Kellan Standley, and I m running to be one of your at-large ASMSU Senators this year. I m a senior Agricultural Education student hoping to teach in Montana upon graduation. When I m not in class, I serve as President of Collegiate FFA, am a player and secretary for MSU s Badger rugby team, and am active in Tactical Action Gaming (the club that puts on Humans vs. Zombies). If elected, I pledge to consider issues objectively and advocate in students best interests. Kellan Standley Hello Bobcats! As a Bozeman native and heavily involved in our campus life and community I strive to bring a fresh perspective to the ASMSU Senate. It is with this conviction that I announce my candidacy for At Large. Coming from a long history of leadership and teamwork I know how to be a team player while at the same time initiating pivotal change. My name is Lana Lake and I spent my time last year representing the students of MSU as an At Large ASMSU Senator. What a privilege to meet and get to know so many of you! My name is Gianna Vanata and I am a senior in Applied Psychology, running to be an At-Large Senator. I am affiliated with Advocats, SAA, and AOΠ Sorority. Previously, I served as an ASMSU- Billings Senator (2 years). This has given me the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform in this position. I have a passion for MSU, our community, and its students. If elected, I will strive for ALL students to be both accurately heard and represented. GO CATS! Gianna Vanata College of Business Edward Kingman My name is Edward Kingman and I am a member of Pi Kappa Alpha. I am a Marketing major and am representing the College of Business. I have gained experience and organizational skills through management positions as well as leadership positions in my fraternity. I transferred to MSU and am looking forward to sharing my previous experiences to develop new ideas with fellow students of this campus. I have a competitive spirit making me see things through to the end. Hello Montana State, My name is Josh Stevens, I will have a major in Business, and I plan to represent the College of Business on the ASMSU senate for the following school year. I have spent the last two years being involved on campus through Montana State Lacrosse. Clubs are a great way to get involved on campus, and because of this my main focal point this year will be to increasing club involvement and support through ASMSU! Go Cats! Josh Stevens

Katrina Wilhelm My name is Katrina Wilhelm and I am currently a sophomore in the College of Business pursuing the Finance option as well as a minor in International Business. I was a member and officer for multiple organizations while attending high school in Sidney, Montana. I hope that my experience with leadership and communication will help the Senate run efficiently and effectively. In my free time I enjoy being outdoors, reading, and doing anything related to music. Hello! My name is Erica McKay. I hail from Sandpoint, Idaho and I am running for the College of Business. I am a Business Management and Psychology major. I served as the College of Business Senator for the Spring 2012 semester. During my time as senator I also sat on the ASMSU Finance Board and the Registered Student Organization Funding Board. ASMSU is a government run by the students for the students and it is my goal to make every voice heard. Go Cats! Erica McKay College of Education, Health, and Human Development This is my first year at MSU and I couldn't be more excited! I was an avid member of student government in middle school and high school. I truly care about individuals as well as the student body as a whole at MSU. I have experience in leadership and running for senate is a great opportunity for me to engage in school activities and better our campus! Hannah Mulick

Alfred Horn Simone Scafide Hi MSU students, my name is Al and I am a Senior working towards my degree in Technology Education. I am a retired veteran of 28 years of service between the Army and Air Force, so a wee bit older than some of you; I am a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Past Commander of the American Legion, Ancient Order of Hibernians, Technology Education Club and the MSU American Indian Council. As your Senator, I will do my best to represent my fellow students in the College of Education as well as all students. Feel free to stop in and visit me at the ASMSU office in the SUB next to the ASK desk. My office hrs will be Mon and Wed 11:30-12:30. My name is Simone Scafide, and I am a senior studying TechEd. I am running for my current seat in the Department of Education. I am involved on campus as President of the Technology Education Club, Treasurer of Mortar Board National Honors Society, and the Vice President of Panhellenic Council. I am also a member of Order of Omega, Pi Beta Phi and I volunteer for Destination ImagiNation. If elected, I will continue working on improving campus food/beverage options. College of Engineering Kate Lamm My name is Kate Lamm and I am running for an engineering senate seat. I am currently pursuing two degrees, one in biological engineering, the other in chemical engineering, and a minor in business administration. I am a part of the MSU Leadership Institute, the secretary of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, and a part of the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. I want to find more scholarships, internships and professional opportunities for students during my term.

I am representing the College of Engineering Senate seat in order to be a voice for the students of Montana State University. I am a Junior in the Mechanical Engineering Major and Political Science. I have served as a Senator for ASMSU for the last 18 months. I have also been on the Montana 4-H Foundation Board of Trustees and am an Eagle Scout. I was born in Alaska but now live in Paradise, Montana. I love to ski, snowmobile, and hunt I am Charles French. Charles French Michael Townshend Hi! I m Michael Townshend. I am a senior in Mechanical Engineering and hail from Spokane, WA. Having been involved with Senate last year, I am very excited about the prospect of representing students from the College of Engineering and the campus as a whole for the next year. During the year I want to work on creating an atmosphere of camaraderie across campus and to continue providing transparency to all of my constituents. I am familiar with the workings of political agenda by taking aggressive roles in Boy Scouts, FFA, Boys State, and YMCA Youth Legislature. The workings and use of diplomacy, parliamentary procedure, and public speaking have become second nature to me in my leadership roles. I have learned the skills necessary to be a political leader in today s society from my past experiences. As an ASMSU Senator I plan on implementing my skills and knowledge to leave MSU a better place. Timothy Denty

Coleman Vick College of Letters & Science My name is Coleman Vick and I am running in the College of Engineering district. I am majoring in Chemical Engineering, and I am a leader in Cats for Christ and will seek to honor Christ in all that I do as a Senator. I have also been involved in several campaigns for Republicans including the State House of Representatives and State Senate. I would greatly appreciate the honor of being allowed to serve you in the ASMSU Senate. As an ASMSU senator I will keep the well being of the student body as my primary concern; collaborate with my colleagues in the senate while listening and responding to my constituents voices; collect and maintain a working knowledge of the issues affecting students as well as the school, and work consistently to improve our collective experience and ultimate legacy at MSU. Ben Goldstein Luke Howard I was born and raised in Fort Collins, Colorado. I am a sophomore studying political science and economics, and am in the Arabic program. I am an avid fisherman, and enjoy spending time in the outdoors. As a former wrestler, I believe in hard work and not making excuses. I would bring diligence and well thought out policies to the ASMSU senate. I will do my best to make MSU and Bozeman a place students want to continue their education. I would bring a new perspective to the Senate that would be aimed at encouraging students to improve their bond with classmates in the university.

Schuyler Kinneman I was born in Seattle, WA and came out here originally to study Physics, but after much debate I switched my major to Political Science. I've studied Political Science here at Montana State for three years and in that time I have learned how to snowboard, how to shoot a gun, hiked through the Bridgers and realized I made the right choice in rejecting the University of Montana. I am running so that every student has a voice in government. I am an Economics major. I have been part of the ASMSU bylaws and constitution committee I hope to graduate in 2015, so I will have plenty of time to be around campus and help out in any way I can. As far as senate, I hope to bring more of my enthusiasm for the campus to ASMSU. I want to get more people involved on campus and hope to help bring new ideas to the table by doing. Tiffany Kostelnik Hannah Mains Hi I am Hannah Mains and I am running to be you Letters and Sciences Senator. I am majoring in global and multicultural studies and am a sophomore here at MSU. With the leadership courses I am currently involved in and with my past leadership experience I am excited to provide a creative mind and upbeat attitude to ASMSU. I look forward to performing community service while getting to know and improving the MSU/ Bozeman community. I feel being apart of the ASMSU program last year as University College senator was a great learning experience and so much fun. I look forward to what this year as a senator brings! GO CATS! Steven Rowe Hello, My name is Stephen George Rowe; I am running for Senator in the College of Letters & Science at Montana State. I am currently pursuing my degree in Political Science with a Computer Science minor. Currently, I am the Vice-Chair of the College Republicans at Montana State. While I am not helping others or studying I love to be in Montana s great outdoors. I enjoy hiking, fishing, floating, and cliff jumping in the summer, while in winter I am dedicated to my snowboard. Go Bobcats! Jaime Henriquez My name is Jaime Henriquez, (hi-meh). I was in Student Government in Great Falls. I have been volunteering for Eagle Mount, community gardens and Americorps. I am also a tutor for middle school children. I speak Spanish, English and basic sign language and Italian. I want to develop and promote science in Montana, and help students in their science needs. My motivations are: Biology, the outdoors, my late grandfather, and you. Nick Vergara Hey, the name s Nick Vergara. I m running for Senator for the College of Letters & Sciences. I m a paleontology major freshman this year at MSU from Seattle, WA. Along with interests in ASMSU, I am currently enrolled in the University Honors program and was recently elected RHA President for Hannon/Quads. It s my mission to realize my vision for a successful MSU, and I m going to need your help getting there. Together, we ll make these the best years of our lives! WHAT WILL YOU CONTRIBUTE TO MSU? Jason Donin College of Nursing My name is Jason A. Donin, a History major running for a seat to represent the College Letters and Science. 26 years old with junior standing, I earned an associates degree from Central Texas College through off-campus and online courses. I have eight years of world experience, working in the military, health services and industrial fields. I love the social sciences and even like some of the hard sciences, and am currently attempting to get onto city and county committees. My name is Katie Reid and I m a sophomore running for the College of Nursing Senate position. I have experience with student government and school leadership, and would love to get involved with the MSU campus. I m currently in the pre-nursing program, and I plan to graduate in 2015 with a BS in Nursing and minor in Sociology. Before coming to school here, I lived in Oregon and for fun I love to ski, hike, camp and explore around Montana. Katie Reid University Studies Hello! My name is Lukas Smith and I am a freshman here at MSU. I am from Olympia, Washington and I really love Montana. I am currently in the University Studies program, but I plan to major in business. I am the President of North Hedges and I am excited to serve on the Student Government! I will contribute my all to the student government to make Montana a safe, fun and supportive environment. Ethan Schaff Hello MSU! I m Ethan Schaff running for the University Studies seat. I am currently working towards classes that I will use to apply for the Nursing Department and afterwards specialize in Neuroscience. I am active with campus through community service as well as a returning Advocat tour guide. When I am not giving tours or going to class, I like to go back home and spend time with all my brothers at the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. Oliviane Baier Growing up in West Yellowstone and Bozeman, Montana has given me the insight of small town flare and living in a growing environment. Both settings provided me with skills that have made me a well-rounded individual. I have two sons who have continually encouraged me to grow and running for office is a hallmark decision for me. I run on the foundation that anyone can do anything if they choose to do so. Collectively let s run for MSU Student Senate.
