Our NCC team assists not only the College for all its endeavours but the District Administration as well. They take care of basic public administration during all National and Local festivities. This is only a small gist of glory and achievements contributed by JSS Law College to 4 KAR Air Sqn NCC, Mysuru. Cadets from our college have always upheld the name of our unit and the institution collectively. This being at all including the State, National and International level. The pictures below share some of our best glorious moments that we will cherish for a very long time to come. Wing Cdr Gaur inaugurating JSS Law College NCC Troop 02/4 KAR AIR SQN NCC - 2015

ANO Contribution to 4 KAR AIR SQN Starting our journey in 2012, with an honest and true intent of bringing to fore discipline, respect, and patriotism, JSS Law College sent its Cadets in search of glory still dependent to an open Unit. As a care taker Dr. N. Vani Shree strived hard to make NCC a part of life for everyone here at JSS Law College. In 2014 the college allowed her to pursue her dream by allowing her to attend PRCN I & II at OTA Gwalior (MP) and AF STN Tambaram (TN). This entire training duration was a little more than 3 long months which in itself was a challenge for a professional college like ours. We let go one of our senior most Professors to make sure that we contribute to the welfare and well-being of the society and students. This 3 months paved way for a sea lot of change at the cost of Dr. N. Vani Shree logging in long and extra working hours post her training to make up for the lost time and impending syllabus. She made us and the college proud by getting commissioned as Flying Officer and added a feather by securing the Second In Order of Merit 40 SDPC. She went on to add some more glory to the college by becoming the 1 st Lady ANO (Air Wing SW) of Karnataka & Goa Directorate. Reference Service No: NCC/06330001. Raising of Senior Division NCC Troop at JSS Law College, Nilgiri Trek 2017-18 at Udhagamandalam, CATC, ATC and Regional Rallies, VSC & AIVSC 2016- (Bengaluru & Jodhpur), VSC & AIVSC 2017- (Bengaluru & Jodhpur), Board Member and Invigilator NCC B and C certificate examinations, Cadet recruitment and selection for different range of camps, National and International Occasions and Festivities Independence Day, Republic Day, International Yoga Day etc. The college is more than willing to detail the ANO and Cadets for any future endeavour in a Nation-building activity like NCC.
Reasons - Subject Action not to be TAKEN: At the outset, it is truly shocking to receive this Notice-1 which talks about Placement Under Suspended Animation. We think to ourselves Why? 1. The notice states of many points that there is no active participation of Cadets from our college in NCC activities. All the above achievements and pictures prove this otherwise. 2. As long as the venue for training and classes was at the Mahajana s College, Mysuru we had no dearth of Cadets willing to join and participate in all NCC activities. The new venue at KSRTC complex in Naidu Nagar has definitely added to the depleting attendance of Cadets and this is not only from our college, but status quo for all other colleges who are a part of 4 KAR AIR SQN NCC. 3. Naidu Nagar Venue is actually a Bus Station with frequency of buses coming in and out of the station increasing rapidly. Safety issues of the Cadets prevail as this is in the outskirts of the city and moreover the parents of the Cadets are quite sceptical about sending their wards so far. 4. Our college completes its daily routine of regular classes only by 4:30PM, but unfortunately and even after repeated requests to change the time and venue, NCC activities is scheduled at 4:00PM between Mondays through Friday. Our Cadets are left in lurch because they have to board 2 or 3 buses to reach the venue on time. The previous venue was easily accessible and all the activities happened regularly only on Saturdays and Sundays. Cadets were able to balance both, a tough professional course like Law and NCC. But now they are unable to do so. 5. The above directly translates as a genuine justification for the statement Moreover the strength of the Cadets is depleting as the training year progresses, vide Para 1 Line 4. 6. As per policy guidelines Chapter 8 of Institutional Training suggest that planning of institutional training program requires allotment of funds and detailment of PI staff is a mandate. Also yearly Training Instructors to be issued by Unit or Group HQ to help us in our NCC activities has never happened. 7. We have always conducted Institutional Training as suggested in the Manual with the help of our ANO. But now with the change in venue and authority we have not been able to work out the requirement of Training Days and Periods which might be required per month for each Cat. Again the availability of PI staff has always been a challenge off late.
8. Also distribution of work load between the ANO and PI staff lesson-wise has not been a possibility due to lack of cooperation. 9. We are yet to physically receive Cadet Training Precis, Lesson plans, and charts and we only get to hear that it will be sent to your college. 10. The major attraction for the Cadets to enrol themselves to Air Wing is the joy of flying. Dreams soar when we fly in the sky. Unfortunately there is no optimal utilization of micro lights. We can t remember as to when be the last flying class or flying exposure given to our Cadets here at Mysuru though the mandate states to ensure flying exposure to maximum Cadets. We are also told that the balance Cadets must be exposed to simulated start-up procedures, taxiing, and shut-down procedures and other flight checks. (Fortunately the Cadets selected for VSC get this opportunity in Bengaluru). 11. Directorates must also ensure timely conversion/currency of Air Force Officers posted in NCC and that maximum number of Cadets must be trained in Aero-modelling. 12. There is also a very prevalent lack of motivation by the concerned Unit as we find most of the Lady Cadets in a harassed state of mind. (a) Due to the time and distance, (b) A take and take only attitude without giving back anything to the Cadets, especially during training and also in camps. Many such instances have been handled internally by our ANO to make sure that Cadets are not demotivated. REQUISITION: We at JSS Law College request all in authority to consider the below and oblige. 1. PI staff deputation to assist the ANO in JSS Law College. 2. To allow us to conduct Training Classes as per College Academic Year (01 August to 31 May). 3. Reconsider Time & Venue to ease and increase strength and interest. 4. Increase motivation through frequent career guidance sessions. 5. To upskill Cadets enabling them to compete with the rest of the lot across the country. 6. To adapt newer methodology assisting the Cadets to strive for more glory. 7. To inculcate more discipline and unity amongst Cadets. 8. To take care of respect and dignity endowed towards Lady Cadets.
CONCLUSION: We at JSS Law College believe in using our imagination and ingenuity to make NCC training more interesting and bring back the Field Focus in the right perspective. The onus and responsibility lies on us now to be more committed than ever. Cadets have vast potential; we have to channelize this motivated force with matching enthusiasm for the fulfilment of our goal. We at JSS Law College proudly proclaim that we are the 1 st and only Law College in the country to be allotted a Troop. We are immensely gratuitous for this. While we acknowledge the contribution of all of JSS Group of Institutions to NCC, we would like to assure you of our best in the coming years. The shock of notice is yet to die down, but we believe that this is just a passing cloud. The trust and faith in your esteem office reassures us to strive and achieve more. Thanking You, (Prof. M. M.
