Air and Waste Management Association Description of Award: The best projects in the senior, junior and intermediate division relating to 1) generation, control, effect, or illustration of air pollution or waste management or 2) relating to energy conservation or renewable energy. Each winner will receive $100 cash award and a plaque. Additionally, the science department of each winner's school will receive $50. American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) - Kansas City Section Description of Award: The AIChE Kansas City Local Section is pleased to award $100 to the student in the senior or junior division whose project best exemplifies practical application of chemical engineering principles. American Meteorological Society- Kansas City Chapter Description of Award: The American Meteorological Society awards a Certificate of Outstanding Achievement to student exhibitors at the Fair. American Psychological Association Description of Award: A certificate is presented to outstanding research in psychological science under the category of Behavioral and Social Sciences. Archie Dykes Library of Health Sciences Description of Award: The Archie Dykes Library of the Health Sciences at the University of Kansas Medical Center is proud to present special Award s to an individual in each of the Junior and Senior Divisions. This award recognizes outstanding project which are medically related in either the Biological or Behavioral Sciences. The prize for each is a Dykes Library Membership (value $175), which includes check-out privileges, assistance in using library resources and a consultation with a Biomedical Librarian to assist award recipients in their research. This membership is good for one year. ASM International - Kansas City Chapter Description of Award: ASM International will present awards to top material science exhibits. Cash awards of $150 for first place. Association For Women Geoscientists Description of Award: The association is pleased to provide an Award Certificate to the female student whose project exemplifies high standards of innovativeness and scientific excellence in the geosciences. ASU Rob and Melani Walton Sustainability Solutions Initiatives Description of Award: ASU Rob and Melani Walton Sustainability Solutions Initiatives is pleased to recognized two high school projects in the Senior division who seek innovative solutions to humanity s most challenging problems. Projects should convey the intent in their research to solve a complex problem that involves social justice, environmental and economic prosperity. The recognized students will receive a certificate and will be nominated to enter for the Grand Prize cash award. Kansas BioGENEius Challenge 1

Description of Award: The BioGENEius Challenge is the premier poster competition for high school students, recognizing students performing outstanding research in medical, agricultural or industrial biotechnology. Today's winners advance to the Kansas BioGENEius finals on April 26th, where they will compete for the opportunity to advance to the National and International BioGENEius Challenge, happening in Boston this June. The 2018 BioGENEius Challenge Awards are presented by BioKansas, the life science trade association in the state of Kansas representing more than 160 member organizations across the human, plant, animal and industrial biosciences and sponsored by MilliporeSigma, KCALSI (BioNexus KC), Hill s Pet Nutrition, KCAS, and the Missouri Valley PDA. BioKansas is THE unified voice of the life science community in Kansas and throughout the region. Broadcom MASTERS Awards Description of Award: The Broadcom MASTERS (Math, Applied Science, Technology and Engineering for Rising Stars) is a competition for 6 th thru 8 th grade participants who participate at their SSPaffiliated science fair. Nationally, the top 10% of 6 th, 7 th, and 8 th grade participants at their SSS-Affiliate science fairs have been selected for this honor. As a nominee, you are eligible to register and complete an online application to compete nationally for valuable prizes and awards including the grand prize of $25,000. From these entrants, the top 300 Semifinalists will be announced in August 2018 and 30 Finalists will be announced by early September. Finalists will win an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, DC in October, 2018, to compete in the Broadcom MASTERS Finals. Burns & McDonnell Description of Award: A cash award of $100 will be presented to the top senior high exhibitor. A cash award of $50 will be presented to the top junior high and intermediate grade exhibitors. Wall plaques will be engraved with student's name and mailed to the student. Matching cash amounts will be made to the exhibitor's school science department for advancing participation in engineering. F. Gene Hampton Award of Excellence in the Life Sciences Description of Award: Awarded to a ninth or tenth grade student whose project best exemplifies the use of scientific processes in addressing a biological problem. The student and the sponsoring teacher will each receive an award of $100. The GENIUS Olympiad Description of Award: The GENIUS Olympiad recognizes two science and engineering projects that raise awareness of sustainability problems in our world. The winning projects will be asked enter and compete the international GENIUS Olympiad held at SUNY Oswego in June. Greater Kansas City Association of Family and Consumer Sciences Description of Award: The Greater Kansas City Association of Family and Consumer Sciences presents four cash awards of $50 each. IEEE (I triple E) Kansas City Section- PES/IAS Chapter Description of Award: IEEE is the world's largest professional association advancing innovation and technological excellence for the benefit of humanity. IEEE Power & Energy Society proudly provides certificates of merit and cash awards to the best projects in the senior, junior and intermediate divisions relating to Power Engineering. 2

Intel Excellence in Computer Science Award Description of Award: The Intel Excellence in Computer Science Award is presented to the top senior division project in a computer science category. The winner will receive an Intel Award Certificate and $200. Kansas City Garden Club Description of Award: The top winners will receive $25 each, a certificate and an achievement ribbon for outstanding Horticulture experiments. Linda Hall Library of Science, Engineering & Technology-Shipman Award Description of Award: The Shipman Award of $500 is granted to the senior division student who makes excellent use of scientific literature in the context of a science fair project. Also $500 goes to the sponsoring teacher Linda Hall Library of Science, Engineering & Technology Project Display Description of Award: Every year Linda Hall Library invites a group of students with outstanding and creative Science Fair projects to display their projects at the Library during the month of May. The displayed projects along with the reception attended by the students, their families and their teachers is a favorite event of the library staff and patrons as it introduces us to these young scientists and the broad range of their work. This year Linda Hall Library would like to honor the following students for their outstanding work. The Marie Miller Promising Young Scientist Award Description of Award: This award honors "scientific exploration." The award is given to the students whose project in the Intermediate and Junior Division best exemplifies "scientific discovery, exploration, and curiosity." Winners will receive $100 and their teacher will receive $150 for science materials at their school. Martin N. Schuler Award Description of Award: Presented by MRIGlobal, the Martin N. Schuler award recognizes Mr. Schuler's outstanding commitment to research professionalism, and his contributions to the community through his long-term involvement with Science Pioneers as their past president and secretarytreasurer. This cash award of $250 and a certificate will be presented to a student in the senior division for outstanding achievement in the biological sciences. Mu Alpha Theta Description of Award: Certificate to the senior project that demonstrates the most challenging, original, thorough and creative investigation of a problem involving mathematics. NASA Earth Systems Science Award Description of Award: The NASA Earth Systems Science Award is given to the student that best demonstrates insight into Earth s interconnected systems. 3

National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Description of Award: A Certificate and medallion is presented to one project in the junior or senior division whose research emphasizes NOAA's mission of Science, Service, and Stewardship: to understand and predict changes in climate, weather, oceans and coasts, to share that knowledge and information with others, and to conserve and manage coastal and marine ecosystems and resources. Ricoh Corporation Description of Award: The Ricoh Sustainable Development Award goes to the outstanding project that addresses issues of environmental responsibility and sustainable development. Science City MAKE Award Description of Award: In recognition of your creative project, we are honored to provide you 4 complimentary tickets to the 8th Annual Maker Faire Kansas City, as well as an opportunity to showcase your winning exhibit at Maker Faire. Science City Spark!Lab SPARK AWARD Description of Award: In recognition of your inventive project, we are honored to provide you 4 complimentary tickets to the 8th Annual Maker Faire Kansas City, as well as an opportunity to showcase your winning exhibit at Maker Faire. Society of Women Engineers- Kansas City Section Description of Award: Society of Women Engineers is an organization that provides valuable opportunities for women in science and engineering to network, find support and develop their careers. The Kansas City section works to achieve the society's goals by reaching out to girls of all ages and encouraging them to pursue careers in STEM. Stockholm Jr. Water Prize Description of Award: The Stockholm Junior Water Prize is the most prestigious award for a waterrelated science project at the high school level. The competition is aimed at enhancing the quality of life through the improvement of water quality, water resource management or water and wastewater treatment. The Society of American Military Engineers- The Greater Kansas City Post Description of Award: Three cash prizes and certificates of achievement are awarded in the Senior Division for exemplary projects that reflect innovation, practical application, and leadership in each of the Earth and Space Science, Engineering, Earth Science, Environmental Science and Renewable Energy categories. Society for In Vitro Biology Description of Award: This award recognizes an outstanding project exhibiting in the areas of plant or animal in vitro biology or tissue culture. Society for Science & the Public Award for Community Innovation Description of Award: Society for Science & the Public Award for Community Innovation is to celebrate students who seek to help mankind through science and engineering. The award is given to a student 4

who has done a project that will better humanity and improve conditions in the local community. This $500 award is given to the most deserving student. Science Pioneers Legacy Award Description of Award: This intermediate special award is for a project that showcases scientific learning, creativity, and curiosity. The Fair in 1952 to help promote student interest in the sciences, and Science Pioneer legacy continues as participation in the Fair grows. The winner will receive a Certificate of Achievement along with a Fair T-shirt. United States Environmental Protection Agency Description of Award: Certificates for Environmental projects in each of the 3 divisions, plus a special memorial award plaque for innovation. United States Metric Association Description of Award: The U.S. Metric Association provides a certificate to be presented to the best senior level student whose project involves significant amount of quantitative measurement and which best uses the SI metric system for those measurements. United States Air Force Description of Award: The United States Air Force recognizes STEM talent to remain on the cutting edge of technology with the award certificate and package that includes over-the-shoulder pack, power bank charger, USB flash drive and a dual USB Car Charger. Western Chapter of the Missouri Society of Professional Engineers Description of Award: Western Chapter of the Missouri Society of Professional Engineers is presenting four $50 checks to the outstanding exhibits in engineering and engineering-related fields Yale Science & Engineering Association, Inc. Description of Award: The Yale Science & Engineering Association, Inc. provides a certificate to the most outstanding project exhibiting in the areas of Computer Science, Engineering, Physics or Chemistry. 5
