On top of the myriad of activities, exciting student accomplishments, and athletic events that are in progress, students are finishing state-mandated End-of-Course Exams, are beginning with Advanced Placement Exams, and are gearing up for final exams. Additionally, several individuals have dedicated a large part of their lives to the success of our students and mark this school year as their final one as they step into retirement. I thank Vicki Datt, Anne Fox, Janice Francis, Pat Koeneker, Dave Moody, John Spires, Kathy Teson, Steve Wagner, and Cassie Wattler for the wonderful work they ve done for several years here and wish them the very best in their future endeavors. Activities that occur during these next few weeks are always exciting. The definitive salute to our students success is witnessed at our commencement ceremony, held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, May 26 th, at The Family Arena in St. Charles. Commencement is a great celebration of our graduates accomplishments during their four years with us. I m excited that we will once again graduate an impressive class of seniors who are ready to step beyond high school. It s a wonderful time as we recognize our students for reaching the final milestone in their secondary educational experience. I appreciate the outstanding work done by each of you during this school year your diligence and effort as parents and students have played major roles in the success that is an everyday occurrence at Fort Zumwalt South. Best wishes for an exciting finish to this school year, a relaxing summer, and a renewed strength next fall as we continue to build upon our tradition of excellence at FZS. Sincerely, Kevin Keltner, Ed. D. Principal

FROM OUR ASSISTANT PRINCIPALS CLASS OF 2018 Our time together is drawing to a close. I am so proud of each one of you and the growth that you had over the past four years. You all amaze me everyday. Your new chapter in life is about to start and you are ready to go out and change the world. No matter what the future brings you, you will always be a Bulldog! You will have your South High memories. You might not remember every teacher or late nights doing homework, but you will remember that one teacher who made a difference and the friendships you made. There are a lot of activities still going on this month. Be ready! Prom is May 5th at Old Hickory. I can t wait to see you all dressed up. Our Graduation Walk will be held on May 14th. You must wear your cap and gown. The last day of school is May 15th. Study hard for your final exams. Colleges want to see your final transcript. Graduation rehearsal will be Friday, May 18th at 8:00 a.m. It is MANDATORY! And last but not least, Graduation is May 26th at 9:30 a.m. You need to arrive by 8:30 a.m. Grad Night will follow as the doors will open at 9:30 p.m. This year s Grad Night is going to be awesome! You will not want to miss it. Enjoy every last minute!!! Dr.Ticia Garbarini Assistant Principal CLASS OF 2019 Only 18 school days remain in May. It is crucial that you keep focused during this time. In April, we finished the month with our ACT and EOC exams. The first two weeks of May will involve AP testing for those in specific courses. Once AP exams are complete, this gives us approximately one full week of classes before final exams begin. Did I mention only 18 school days remain? In speaking with many of you concerning grades, extracurriculars, and post-secondary plans, I continue to be impressed year after year at your growth and determination to achieve your goals. Many of our extra-curriculars will be winding down shortly. Thank you to all who participated and to those that cheered on our Bulldogs. I am looking forward to seeing you all at Prom Saturday, May 5th. Let s finish the school year strong and on a positive note. This could go without saying, but I cannot help myself, 18 more days until our class may begin chanting SENIORS, SENIORS, SENIORS! Mr. Joe Serles Assistant Principal CLASS OF 2020 Well, Class of 2020, just a little over a month of your sophomore year left to go! Wow, did it fly by. Even though May 24th will be here before you know it, be sure to stay on top of your school work and prepare for your final exams. In addition, those of you taking EOC exams, be sure to do your best and take them seriously! On Thursday, May 10 th, at 7:30 a.m., Jostens will be here to hand out class rings. Those of you who ordered them, your name will be on a list and you will be dismissed to the commons to receive them. I have enjoyed spending the past two years with you and look forward to watching you learn and grow during your junior year. Make it a great May! Mrs. Stephanie Goellner Assistant Principal CLASS OF 2021 This is it we are almost there. There are just 18 days left of school! As exciting as that may be, you do need to focus during these 18 days! Final exams will begin on Tuesday, May 22 nd and run through your last day, Thursday, May 24 th. Remember, your finals can count for up to 20% of your semester grade. It is important that you finish strong; however, if you need a summer school application, they are available in the guidance office. It is important to stay on top of your credits. Sign up to see your counselor if you have any questions. Your freshman year is almost at an end. Many of you have made new friends, gained new interests and hobbies, and discovered that high school is different than middle school, and it can be a lot of fun! I hope you have a great summer, and I look forward to spending the next three years with you all! Dr. Angie Hahn Assistant Principal

Early Release Days Are Moving Next Year The 2018-2019 school year calendar is on our website. Just click here. We are grateful for the home-school partnership in teaching children that every minute counts at school and want to make a special note: Early Release Days move to Wednesdays in 2018-2019. We know many of you use this time to schedule appointments, etc., so your child can be at school when class is in session. The change takes effect in August. We hope that by reminding you of this change over the next few months, you and your family are ready for the next school year. Thank you for support of strong school attendance. #EveryMinuteCounts ACT TEST DATE June 9, 2018 Annual Parent Notifications Click here: District Flyers Click here: http://www.fz.k12.mo.us/about_us/annual_parent_notifications
