Scholarships for Studies and Research 11/25 /2013

CIMO FELLOWSHIPS Scholarships for Post-graduate Studies Primarily for post-graduate students invited to a Finnish university to complete a doctorate thesis or a double degree. Scholarship is 900-1,200/month and duration 3-12 months. Applications submitted by representatives of Finnish universities. Rolling deadline. Regional priorities in line with CIMO s strategic priorities: Russia, China, India, Chile, Brazil and North America. 11/25 /2013

FINNISH GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP POOL Scholarships for Post-graduate Studies For post-graduate (post Master s degree) studies and research in Finnish universities and public research centres for students from outside Finland. Scholarship is 1,200 /month and duration 3-9 months. Individuals apply through authorities in their home country. Application deadlines may vary from country to country. Scholarships are based on Finland s cultural agreements, cultural exchange programmes and bilateral scholarship programmes with 13 countries: Australia Egypt India Israel Japan China Republic of Korea Cuba Mexico Mongolia Namibia Turkey Ukraine 11/25 /2013

Nordplus Programmes 2012-2016 Higher Education Horizontal Network cooperation in the Nordic and the Baltic countries and their autonomous regions - Mobility, intensive courses, joint degree programmes, development projects and network support - Annual budget: 4m (70% for mobility) - From 2014 deadline maybe moved to 1.2 Languages Workshops, seminars, learning materials, projects in language technologies, joint curricula - Annual budget: about 600,000 Cross-sectoral projects in the Nordic and Baltic countries and their autonomous regions - Workshops, seminars, studies, production of teaching materials - Annual budget: about 900,000

NORDIC MASTER Supports Nordic joint Master s programmes Last pilot phase application deadline: 15.11.2013 About three programmes to be selected, funding max. DKK1.1m Nordic Council of Ministers decided to make programme permanent and next application deadline envisaged in 2015 Administration by SIU in Norway

Nordic-Russian Cooperation Programme in Education and Research 2012-2015 Support for different types of projects, incl. mobility Last application deadline for now: 1.11.2013 Available budget about 750,000 Funding only to Nordic HEIs, Russian partners need to use own funding or apply for funding from the local ministry Administration of HEI projects by SIU in Norway, of research projects by NordForsk

Science without Borders Up to 100,000 Brazilian students and researchers will be sent abroad through the programme in the next few years. HEIs can offer Brazilian students an opportunity for 12-month study period. The programme will cover all the expenses of the Brazilian students for their studies and trainee placements. Priority is given to technology and sciences. The 2nd year of the programeme is ongoing, the selected students will begin their studies in January 2014 The 3rd application round has been announced. 21.5.2013
