(2)Example of JICA s Assistance for Southern Africa ABE (African Business Education) initiative -Objective: To support young personnel who have the potential to contribute to industrial development in Africa by providing opportunities to study in Master s course and intern in Japanese universities and enterprises. -Duration: Nov 2013-Oct 2021 (Enrollment is four times from Year 2014 to 2017) -Length of Stay: Minimum of 1 year to Maximum of 3 years Research Student (6months) when university requires Master s programme period (1-2 years) Internship period (2 weeks to 6 months) -Target participants: (1) Private Sector (local company, NGO,NPO etc.,) (2) Government or Public officials (3) Educators (4) Fresh Graduates (5) those who have strong motivation to contribute to in Industrial development in RSA 5

Draft Terms of Reference of JICA Expert T/C Purpose To enhance the performance of the SADC Development Finance Institutions and consolidate the Development Finance System consisting of Governments, Private Financial Institutions and Project Implementation Agencies Outputs 1) To enhance the Corporate Governance of SADC development finance institutions 2) To enhance the capacity in the area of Project Value Chain Project Formation, Project Preparation, Appraisal, Implementation and others of SADC development finance institutions 3) To enhance the function of SADC-DFRC, in the area of policy research and advisory services in development finance to SADC development finance institutions and Government. 4) To enhance the relationship of SADC development finance institutions and Japan. 16
