To celebrate the end of the season, the STA JV Girls Basketball Team played a spirited game against their moms before enjoying pizza and treats! Although the moms had a clear height advantage, the girls defeated them pretty handedly! Marianni/Mock Family: STA 68,76,78,83,06,08 The Mariani and Mock families have a long history at STA. Gil Mariani Mock STA 78 and her siblings are all STA grads. Gil s sister Rebecca Mariani Brady was in the first graduating class of STA in 68!. Her brothers Peter 76 and Christopher 83 followed. Gil married Bill Mock and they sent their 3 children to STA: Maria, Billy and Tori. Maria Mock, STA 06, Ursuline Academy 10, graduated DeSales Univ. in 2014 and is an elementary education teacher for K-4, owing much of her interest in the area to her teachers at STA. It is her dream too one day run the Billy Mock Foundation. Billy Mock loved running for STA s CYO Track team and was an enthusiastic, kind student. When he became ill with brain cancer in 6 th grade, the STA family rallied around his family for support and when Billy died on what would have been his last day of 7 th grade, his family honored him by establishing the Billy Mock Foundation, whose guiding principle is simply helping others. Billy lives on in our STA community through the generosity of the foundation and the Billy Mock Kids Club, which introduces STA kids to service as a daily part of their lives, in his name. The latest graduate of STA is Tori Mock, 13, pictured above. Thanks to her STA CYO experiences, Tori now plays lacrosse and volleyball at Archmere Academy. In her sophomore year, she was invited to play Varsity Volleyball and was on the DIAA State Championship winning team earlier this year. The Mariani/Mock families are a great example of loyal alumni who make this such a great community!
