JRLETC FAQs What days will I be staying? Attendees arrive the day before the course, (i.e. arrive Saturday for a Sunday-Monday course), and depart after the last session is completed, (i.e. Monday evening for a Sunday-Monday course). When booking airfare, the travel agency will first attempt to reserve a flight home immediately following the completion of the training (typically Monday night). In the event that a flight is not available they will book a flight for the following day and NCMEC will cover the extra night s lodging. If a flight home after the course is available and you chose not to take it, you will be responsible for the additional night s hotel costs. Where will I be staying? For sessions held at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) headquarters, you will be staying at the Hotel Monaco Alexandria located at 480 King Street, Old Town Alexandria, VA, 22314. Phone: (703) 549-6080 Will I need a car? Renting a car is not a necessity. The hotel provides free round-trip shuttle service between the airport, and our training facility is only 3 blocks from the hotel. The King Street Metro station, which provides direct access into Washington, DC, and other locations in Maryland/Virginia region, is located in Old Town Alexandria, approximately 1 mile from the hotel. Many restaurants and shops are within walking distance of the hotel. If you do choose to rent a car, you will be responsible for any costs incurred including $24 per day hotel parking. How do I find the hotel shuttle? Upon arrival, call the Hotel Monaco Alexandria at (703) 549-6080. Provide the desk clerk with your name, the name of the airline, the location of the terminal and a contact number. The hotel shuttle will pick you up in the designated terminal shuttle pick up area. Hotel van may be identified by the name Kimpton Hotel Monaco Alexandria. The shuttle will operate between the hours of 8:00 AM and 9:00 PM. If you arrive before or after these times please contact your NCMEC Training Coordinator for additional options. May I bring a guest with me? There is no extra charge for a guest at the hotel; however, you will be responsible for your guest s transportation. Additional nights lodging are at the participants expense and are available by request. Please let your NCMEC Training Coordinator know if you wish to extend your stay.
What is the attire for class? Class attire is business casual. Slacks and a collared shirt are appropriate for men. Business skirts or pants and a blouse or sweater are appropriate for women. The AC in the room is left on high, all year round so if you wish, please bring a light jacket or sweater. What costs will I incur, and what is provided? For onsite CEO Courses, NCMEC covers: 1. Airfare, 2. Hotel lodging for the specific dates of the course, 3. Breakfasts and lunches on the days of training, 4. Training fees, 5. Speaker/Instructors costs/fees and 6. Training materials. Attendees are asked to cover their dinners and any miscellaneous costs (i.e. baggage fees, sightseeing, etc ) Any and all costs for offsite courses are TBD. The details and specific costs covered or not covered will be discussed and agreed upon before each specific course date s start. May I receive educational credits for attending these courses?
